This year’s candle, blessed and lit at the Easter Vigil, is the Cross of Erin. The main element is a metallic bronze wax cross which is an adaptation of the
sculpted stone crosses of ancient Ireland.
The shaft and arms of the Cross of Erin are joined by four great arcs, engraved mouldings, interlacing,
intricate frets and a 3 tiered base containing the key symbols of the Alpha/Omega, the Lamb of God, and
the current year.

Update on Sacramental Formation in the Woburn Catholic Collaborative
Parents and Guardians of candidates for First
Confession, First Holy Communion and Confirmation
All information about sacramental formation and celebration will be emailed to families, posted on www.woburncatholic.com and announced in the
bulletin. Please note the following:
• First Confession (Penance) and First Holy Communion will be rescheduled. Since First Confession must precede First Holy Communion, both will take place in late September or early October 2020. Details will follow.
• Confirmations at both churches on May 17, 2020
are postponed. Rescheduling information will follow via email and website.
90-Day Fundraiser to Help Parishes Financially Survive the Coronavirus
Outbreak
Inspired by a grassroots movement for parish-ioners to rally around their local parishes, the “90 Days Now – For Your Parish” is a three-
month campaign to help support parishes while churches are temporarily closed due to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
The Archdiocese of Boston created an easy-to-use, on-line payment mechanism for donors to make a gift to the Lord directly to either St. Anthony or St. Barbara parish. This simple link is available by clicking HERE.

Drive Up Confessions Change
Regional Bishop Mark O’Connell has asked us to discontinue regularly scheduled drive up
confessions. Going forward, drive up confessions need to be by appointment only. Please phone the business office to make an anonymous appointment.

The Woburn Catholic Collaborative quickly switched gears to ensure our parishioners could celebrate Holy Week while following the Archdiocese of Boston and the State’s requirement for social distancing during this COVID-10 pandemic.
To our surprise, we reached not only Woburn parishioners but worshipers from around the world. Below are some

Council of Social Concern Food Pantry
Although St. Barbara church is currently closed during the COVID - 19 pandemic, the Council of Social Concern Food pantry is open and needs
donations. They are taking precautions to ensure the safety of
the community - please call prior to dropping off any donated items.
They are located at 2 Merrimac Street in Woburn
and their number is 781-935-6495.
St. Vincent De Paul Society of Woburn
In order to allow the Society to continue helping those in need, during this time, they need the funds
to do so. We encourage you to assist with the important
work of this ministry with regular donations, through their website, the Thrift Shop, Amazon
Smile, or the Food Pantry. Since all our members are volunteers 100% of all
donations are used to help those in need.
