• Federal assistance is available to help pay for the cost of health insurance purchased through Obamacare.

• This assistance is known as a health insurance premium “subsidy”.


Do you qualify for a health insurance

premium subsidy?

• If you purchase a health insurance plan under

Obamacare, you may be able to receive a subsidy

if your individual or family income is between 100%

and 400% of the federal poverty level.


Are the benefits offered

under Obamacare just as good?

• Some people have the impression that the benefits

offered under subsidized Obamacare plans are not

as good as the benefits under traditional plans

without subsidies.

• Nothing could be farther from the truth!

• In many cases, the plans available through

Obamacare offer more benefits than the traditional

plans previously available.


How can I purchase a plan through

Obamacare?

• In the State of North Carolina, the federal government is responsible for handling coverage applications for NC health insurance plans offered under Obamacare.

• Plans offered to NC state residents are made available through the Healthcare.gov website during a limited open enrollment period.

deadline?

• Unless you experience a special Qualifying Life Event, you will
