Key to the successful implementation of any WMS solution is a professional implementation methodology. The best software implemented poorly will give a poor result. At DATASCOPE we have developed a very strong implementation methodology to ensure that the projects we deliver are professional.

Every project includes twenty-five key steps grouped together in 7 main phases. All projects are implemented in accordance with this methodology and all projects are audited after the go live to ensure that the methodology was followed.

Within this methodology we have the following key sign off milestones. These sign off are foundational to the project success:1. Proposal sign-off – project initiation2. Functional Specification – this detailed document defines the project scope

and deliverables3. UAT (User Acceptance Test) – this workshop showcases the software in operation on the

client’s data4. Training sign-off – agreement to key training completion5. Dry Run – final test of key processes just before go-live6. Go-Live sign-off – full project team agreement that all is ready to go live7. Project sign-off – after handholding. Agreement that the project is complete

DATA S COPE U NI V E R SIT Y ( DS U )

DATASCOPE has implemented a very comprehensive on-line training university which is shared with our DSP’s (DATASCOPE Partners) and key customers. This university include eleven main courses which are broken down into sections and subsections. The format of the training is very “hands on”. Most content is explained in videos and diagrams that are easy to understand.

At DATASCOPE we understand that our client implementations are only as good as their knowledge of our software. We strive to create an environment where the staff are able to grow their knowledge of the software and to then implement more functions and features.

The DSU is a living system. As new modules are developed and as current modules are enhanced the DSU is updated to disseminate the knowledge to our partners and customers.

DATA S COPE S OLU TION PA RT N E R S ( DS P )

DATASCOPE are committed to building a professional distribution network across the world. This network is known as the DATASCOPE DSP’s – DATASCOPE Solution Partners.

Each partner is very carefully selected by DATASCOPE. They will normally be a smaller team of professional SYSPRO or warehousing experts – often both. DATASCOPE then give a full commitment to each new partner for one year. During this year we would complete two or three implementations with the first implementation being run by DATASCOPE with the new DSP staff doing a lot of the day to day work. The second implementation normally sees the DSP taking a lead on the project with DATASCOPE involved heavily in all project meetings and the third project is run by the DSP with some input from DATASCOPE.

W M S F O R S Y S P R ODATASCOPE

5

All functional specifications are completed in tandem with DATASCOPE resources. We ensure that what is designed for the client is the best solution we can offer.

As is the case in all aspects of the DATASCOPE business each DSP is audited annually by DATASCOPE and a rating system is updated. It is our vision to share these ratings in time with prospective clients.

T H E DATA S COPE W MS S OF T WA R E

The DATASCOPE Warehousing Management Solution (WMS) has been built specifically for operation with SYSPRO ERP and therefore is highly integrated into SYSPRO via the standard SYSPRO E.NET object layer. Although the WMS has its own MS SQL database, it holds the bulk of its data in the standard SYSPRO tables. The software therefore acts as an intelligent layer between the warehouse factory floor operations (mobile devices) and core SYSPRO.

Over the past ten years DATASCOPE has invested heavily into this software suite thus building a plug and play solution for almost all SYSPRO distribution and manufacturing companies. The software is completely settings driven and can therefore easily be configured to operate in many environments.

6

HIGH LE V E L BE N E F I T S OF IM P LE M E N T ING T H E DATA S COP E W MS A R E :

> Operational consulting resulting In Improved warehouse layout; > Picking efficiency and accuracy Improvements (for jobs and sales orders); > Raw materials FIFO control; > WIP tracking visibility and WIP labour postings; > Improved stock control accuracy and visibility; > Job substitute SKU replacement management and variance control; > Reduced Inventory levels; > Drastically reduced stock take time and Improved count accuracy; > Improved management operational efficiency and KPI reports; > Improved route and load planning with distribution efficiencies; > Improved sales order fulfilment rates resulting In Improved customer service; > Sales growth opportunities enabled; > Warehouse heads reduction / reallocation; > Optimisation of random bin locations resulting in warehousing efficiencies; > Voice-directed picking; > Customer returns management; > Integration to picking conveyors; > Lot traceability Improvements; etc.

All transactions within the WMS are posted live into SYSPRO and are security controlled based on named users. Each transaction requires an operator login which authenticates all standard SYSPRO securities and logs the user name against every transaction posted to SYSPRO. Further, the system maintains a detailed operator log file of key security overrides.

The software has been developed in the latest .Net development tools. All grid screens can be dynamically filtered and exported to MS Excel, converted to PDF or printed directly. ClickOnce deployment technology is used for deployment and upgrades and all software is strictly version controlled. Updates to the software are covered in the standard annual license fee structure.

ON- GOING DE V E LOPM E N TDATASCOPE Is committed to an aggressive software development roadmap. To date the solution has incurred over thirty thousand hours of development time over the past ten years. The next three years will so a dramatic increase in features to the product.

Our software engineers use a scrum development approach with two weekly sprints, daily stand up meetings and code reviews after each sprint.

A detailed three-year product roadmap is in place with clear deliverables on key new modules.

8

V E R SION CON T ROL A N D U P GR A DE SAll software released by DATASCOPE is strictly version controlled. The install process is wizard based and intuitive. The upgrade process involves a server port download and a wizard based upgrade process that will move your install from your current version to the new version relatively seamlessly. The server upgrade auto heals all PC or Mobile device clients. A typical upgrade would take place during a lunch break and thereafter all clients will self-heal. This process takes no longer than 5 minutes on the client side.

TA ILORING YOU R DATA S COPE S OF T WA R EOver the past two years DATASCOPE has implemented a comprehensive API layer into the core software. This layer has been developed in the same way as the SYSPRO E.Net system. The look and feel is the same, the why it works is the same. It is also XML based and has a testing harness just like SYSPRO’s E.Net module.

The focus for this module is to enable your current custom developer to easily move from developing a SYSPRO add-on to a DATASCOPE WMS add-on.

Then, all key screens in DATASCOPE WMS has had VB scripting enabled on key fields. This allows our clients to tailor the user expectance and to easily add in extra process steps of additional data collection steps.

W M S F O R S Y S P R ODATASCOPE

9

DATA S COPE S OF T WA R E T EC H NOLO GY S TACKThe software suite is Microsoft based and the product is Microsoft certified. Core software is written in C# with a Microsoft SQL database. This is in line with SYSPRO’s technology stack and is well aligned for the future.

The scanner plant form is based on a fat client but with a fully automated self-healing upgrade. This client is also Windows based and operates on Windows Mobile 6.1 however, a new android platform is currently in development for a future version.

CLOU D R E A DYDATASCOPE WMS is fully cloud ready. Several Azure environments are already in operation and all internal software testing and DATASCOPE demonstration environments have moved to Azure. This is again in line with SYSPRO’s strategy of an Azure cloud solution.

10

S OLU TION S C A L A BILIT YThe software is sold in an equivalent way as SYSPRO in that a company purchases selected modules and licenses several users. The users however are sold on a name user base and not as concurrent users as is the case with SYSPRO’s core ERP offering.

The model allows for a very small site implementation with limited features through to a very large multi-site organization with many users and complex module configurations. There are some very complex sites running the DATASCOPE WMS software. All sites have the same base software installed. The settings are just adjusted for the environment.

Many DATASCOPE clients has grown substantially over the years and the software as offered the required functionality to dramatically change their business operations.
