March 20, 2016 Dear PS198 and PS77 Community Member: Vote for PS198/PS77 on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 7:30-10:30 am A proposal from PS198/PS77 has been included in this year’s Participatory Budget vote by Council Member Ben Kallos’ office. You decide how he will spend $1 Million! Now we need YOU to cast your vote so that our schools can gain the votes needed to win! Each year, a select number of proposals for Capital Improvements (to pay for physical infrastructure projects only - such as improvements to school buildings) are placed on the Participatory Budget ballot which is then open to community voting. Our proposal is for PS198/PS77 to receive funding for a very necessary HVAC cooling system in our building. Due to the age of our school building and the limited use of window AC units, areas of our school such as the cafeteria and auditorium become very heated during warm weather months, reducing the air quality and safety for our children and staff. The HVAC proposal is an important next step to making our building comfortable and safe for all members who use our school building. Please cast your vote and encourage EVERYONE YOU KNOW in the community to vote for PS198/PS77 as well!
