What is Wisdom???Special Peter van Oosten Edition

Due to word-of-mouth many readers of What is Wisdom??? havebeen aware of the fact, that Peter is terminally ill. October 16 thedoctors have stopped the treatment. Now, there is no more hope forrecovery. Soon he will leave us.

Most recipients of Wisdom??? have fond memories of his time astheir teacher and tutor. Besides, he is my best friend. A brother.

October 4 Jane & I were guests of Peter & his family. At this occasi-on, Peter asked me to make this special Wisdom??? edition for all hisfriends around the world. As I feel speechless, and a picture tells athousands words, here are 68,000 wordsin pictures.

It was a sunny Sundaywhen we arrived atPeters house. He musthave felt we were arri-

ving, as he spotted us

from his balcony. Weresumed our usual ritu-als, like talking aboutlife, software and music.But this time there wasthis extra topic.He showed us how he

was fed: a machine in asmall backpack tookcare food was fedthrough a tube that

went through his nose,straight to his stomach.Last week this way offeeding was stopped, asit just didnt work any-more.

Through the years hundreds of students

graduated with help from Peter, as tea-cher and/or tutor. Most of them atDDU, and recently, many at Wittenborg.

Although Peters teaching contract wasparttime, he couldnt help but invest full-time. This illustrates what he thinksabout life: only when you live it intense-ly, and experience life in all its appearan-cesgood and badthen you can say: ILIVE, and when the time comes to quit:I HAVE LIVED LIFE 200%.
