Construction began over 850years ago on the Cathedral de NotreDame de Paris. Today it stands as oneof the finest examples of Gothicarchitecture in the world. The rosewindows, flying buttresses andgargoyles add to its allure. From here,walk to Saint Chapelle, built to housethe relics of King Louis IX (SaintLouis). Sainte Chapelle stands as abeautiful masterpiece of stone andglass. Renovations on the glass wererecently completed to restore them totheir former glory. Travel from hereto St. Denis and the Basilica Churchthere. Considered the first GothicChurch (built in 1144), it is the burialplace of French royalty from the 10ththrough 18th Centuries. Day 4 (H) – Louvre / Musee D’OrsayThis morning take the Metro to the Louvre.Once the palace of French kings, the Louvretoday houses one of the largest collectionsof art and artifacts in the world. Among itstreasures is the Mona Lisa by Da Vinci andVenus de Milo from ancient Greece. Thisafternoon, cross the Seine to the MuseeD’Orsay. Housed in the former train station,the D'Orsay houses one of the finestImpressionist art collections in the world.Built into the 19th century train station, thebuilding is as much a wonder as the artinside. Day 5 (F) – Versailles / Late Afternoondeparture on Eurostar – Chunnel route toLondon – Transfer to your London hotel.Today you will travel to the Palace ofVersailles. Originally a hunting lodge for theFrench aristocracy, Louis XIV transformedthe buildings and grounds into themagnificent complex we see today. William the Conqueror beganoriginal construction in 1078. The history ofLondon and the Kings and Queens ofEngland still reverberate in the buildings andgrounds. CANCELLATION FEES: 100% of Cancellation Fees are covered by the optional Travel Protection Program, provided premium hasbeen paid and reason for cancellation is insurable. Those who do not take travel protection should beaware of the following cancellation penalties: From day of registration to 105 days prior to departure, youwill be charged the $100 non-refundable administrative fee plus any airline fees.
