When the word “Polished Concrete” is mentioned one immediately imagines a concrete floor with a shine, however unfortunately this is far from what it actual is or should be.  One can lay a concrete floor and by means of sealers achieve the desired shine, which by using the right materials could be an extremely valid and aesthetically pleasing floor……….. but you will never be achieving the exceptional  properties a machine Polished Concrete floor has to offer.A ConCreative Polished Concrete floor is the Ultimate Flooring both for commercial and for domestic uses.  Its anti scratch, high abrasion resistance, and anti stain properties are second to non and also enjoying the usual concrete characteristic of having a completely original and Unique floor.

Unfortunately, due to poor quality local natural resources the desired effect with Concreative Polished Concrete is not always achievable and we would need to turn onto one of our other applications, However, we are constantly testing and striving to overcome these difficulties.

Reactive Staining is a technique used to colour both concrete and concrete toppings using Acid stains or Acetone stains.  This procedure gives unique and different finishes for each and every different application.  As its name itself implies Reactive Staining will give a different effect with the way the Stain Reacts to the concrete, it could give 2 different effects on the same floor.

Reactive Staining is used both on new laid concrete and on Old concrete slabs.  It is an excellent and cheap way to restore old dull concrete.  Using some imagination one could turn an Old concrete floor into a work of art.

"Luxurious" is perhaps not the most common word used to describe a concrete product. "Industrial" or "dirty" might be more familiar. But the concrete countertop has little in common with the concrete slab that is used for a sidewalk. If we are comparing a Concrete counter to what is considered one of the most prestigious materials on the market – granite – Yes, granite is beautiful and unique and quite hard to damage. The price of a concrete counter typically costs about the same as granite, but that's really where the similarities end. When it comes to appearance, there's simply no matching concrete in terms of range. You can do anything with it. Mixing blue pigment and broken glass into the concrete can create a luminescent, sealike look. Irregular pigment mixes can mimic granite, marble or any other type of stone. The possibilities are endless, especially when you consider that since concrete is poured into the countertop mold as a fluid, it can take on any shape at all. A concrete countertop can have all sorts of curves and embedded objects: drain boards, sinks, trivets, knife slots, your old coin collection or even a water feature running along the backsplash.

In terms of strength, durability and maintenance: a black concrete counter might show scratches, but so might a black granite counter. Acidic products like lemon juice might eat through a concrete sealer over time. It can also damage a granite finish. Both products are strong enough and hard enough to handle whatever culinary activities you can throw at them.

In the early 1930’s, a british chemist by the name of John Crossfield had developed a formulation for mixing natural rubber and cement (which are not compatible by nature) and he applied for a patent with the title “Plastic Composition”. The patent produced an overlay cement coating for steel ship decks to provide both traction and corrosion protection. During World War II, polymer modified cements started being used on ships such as the Queen Mary, the SS America and the Queen Elizabeth.

Micro-topping is a polymer modified cementitious coating that can be applied either paper thin or having several thin coats up to 5mm, according to the desired finish.

Micro-topping is extremely versatile and having a high, superior quality, polymer content   gives it excellent adhesion and bonding properties allowing micro topping to be applied on most hard surfaces including concrete / ceramic / steel / wood and many others.

Like all concrete products and applications, with Micro-topping, each floor will be unique regardless if the same colour or technique is installed elsewhere, simply because it is hand applied and cures naturally.  Atmospheric conditions, skill of installer, lighting, colour of walls and fixtures will all affect the final product and give a one of a kind floor.

Micro-topping can be used for interior and exterior applications both horizontally (floors) and vertically (walls), giving the possibility to create continuity in both design and appearance.  It can be used to restore old unsightly concrete or to finish the walls and floors of a new build.  Micro-topping, is tough and resistant to water, abrasion and salt.

Stamped concrete also know as Imprint concrete started sometime in the 1950’s and started becom-ing popular in the 1970’s, however back then, both designs and colours were limited. With the growth of Architectural / Decorative concrete, colours became vast and also stamping designs. Stamped concrete is the perfect concrete application which emulates different building materials such as Slate / Brick / Flagstone / Stone / Tile / Rock / Wood and various others, making stamped concrete a less expensive alternative to using those other authentic materials.

Stamped concrete is commonly used for patios, side walks, drive ways, pool decks and many other exterior uses, however it is also used for interior floorings. Stamped concrete can also be blended with other decorative concrete elements such as exposed aggregate finishes and acid-etch staining, along with a particular pattern, such as running bond brick, hexagonal tile, worn rock or stone.

Three main procedures make Stamped concrete different to other concrete applications, namely, the use of a base colour, the addition of an accent colour and stamping of the pattern into the concrete at the opportune moment.

A very important feature to note about stamped concrete is that with the right minimal maintenance it is longer lasting than paved stone and still resembles the look.

Sasso Italia by Ideal Work is a combination of the classic Italian Terrazzo and today’s polymer technolo-gies, forming another topping which can be applied to a thickness of 2cm – 4cm, making this applica-tion excellent for concrete restoration. Sasso Italia is an exterior non slip application, giving an exposed aggregate look, however could also be used for interior applications, once polished, with a final Terraz-zo look alike.

Durability: Concrete flooring is extremely tough and resilient, and is able to withstand the pressure from very heavy equipment such as cars, trucks, forklifts, and stacked crates. Design Options: Modern advances in concrete mixing and setting have allowed designers to achieve an endless variety of colour and texture effects using this versatile material. In some cases coloration will be mixed directly into the concrete before the slab is placed. For already installed floors you can either acid stain the surface, use an appropriate dye or staining agent, or paint over it with a water proof latex paint. The texture of the concrete can be made smooth during the installation process. Alternatively decorative textural patterns can be carved into the surface while it is still setting. You also have the option of polishing the material to a smooth sheen, or etching it to create a faux tile effect.
