The Lord breaks into our world and into our lives in unexpected ways, as he did in Bethlehem. Today he may come in the face, the voice, the need of a stranger, or a child, or the poor, or our own family. We place ourselves, this day and this season, in an attitude of quiet, prayerful hope-filled expectation, so that in the frantic busying of life, we will not miss the Master’s coming. What can you do this week to be awake and vigilant for the Lord? Spiritual Communion “Jesus, truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, I love You above all things and I desire to possess You within my soul. Since I am unable at this moment to receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as being already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.” -St. Alphonsus Ligouri
