Cruise Whitsundays – Resort Transfers Product description Cruise Whitsundays operates an efficient and streamlined transfer service connecting the airports with island and mainland resorts. “Resort Connections” connects Hamilton Island Airport to Daydream Island Resort & Spa, Long Island Resort and Airlie Beach. They also operate a convenient connecting service from Whitsunday Coast Airport (Proserpine) through to the islands.

Hamilton Island Operating directly from the airport pontoon, just 100 metres from the arrivals hall, a vessel will meet each flight. Once the vessel has all guests it will depart and cruise to Daydream (30 minutes) on to Long Island (40 minutes), then to Airlie Beach (60 minutes). Times vary according to the route/departure time. Departing guests similarly arrive directly at the airport on a vessel timed to suit flight departures.

Whitsunday Coast Airport A dedicated meet and greet coach service at the airport will transfer passengers to Abelll Point Marina, Airlie Beach (30 minutes) or Shute Harbour where ferries depart for the island resorts. Guests flying out similarly are met from the ferry at Abelll Point Marina, Airlie Beach or Shute Harbour by a dedicated coach and transferred to the airport. Services are timed to suit flight departures. The coach sector is provided by “Whitsunday Shuttle Service”.

Which Resorts Cruise Whitsundays service operates between Whitsunday Coast Airport via Abelll Point Marina – Daydream Island Resort and Spa – Long Island – Hamilton Island Airport.

The Vessels “Barracuda”, “Orca” and “Swordfish” were purpose designed and built for this service. They are 19 metre catamarans, carry 123 passengers (70 inside / 53 on the upper viewing deck) and cruise at 24 knots. Creature comforts include air conditioning, large plasma screens to provide information on the area, and a bar serving a full range of drinks and snacks.

Timetables – How does it work? The vessel departure / arrival times are timed to give the best possible connection with all flights. The “Resort Connections” schedules will change every six months in line with the airline schedule changes. Just tell them which flight your clients are arriving / departing on and they’ll provide the transfer times. Please check the website for the current timetable at www.cruisewhitsundays.com or contact them on [email protected]. If flights are delayed they will do everything possible to reschedule arrangements to meet arriving guests.

COASTAL ACCOMMODATION

The Whitsunday Coast The Whitsunday Coast is a cosmopolitan and inviting peninsula that stretches from the central town of Airlie Beach to stunning and secluded beaches along the coastline and inland to picturesque hinterland. Airlie Beach provides the ideal mainland base for holiday fun and adventure in the Whitsundays, where accommodation styles are as varied as the accents that can be heard in the main street.

Airlie Beach Vibrant and alive, Airlie Beach is the beating heart of the Whitsundays. It is the epicentre of access to the islands and the reef by day, and by night offers such an array of dining and nightlife that every night is a Saturday night! Airlie Beach provides the ideal mainland base for holiday fun and adventure in the Whitsundays, where accommodation styles are as varied as the accents that can be heard in the main street. Backpacking hostels, luxury apartments, and villas set on the hillsides are the ideal base for watching stunning sunsets over the islands and launching your holiday activities on the water. It’s a social and lively place with fabulous restaurants, clubs and bars to party well into the night, and a beautiful swimming lagoon set in parkland overlooking the islands to rejuvenate during the day. Just minutes from town, discover quiet, undiscovered coves, beaches and rainforest, and a diversity of landscapes so contrasting to the blues of the ocean.

Bowen Bowen is another good Whitsunday Coast base for your Whitsundays holiday. Located 45 minutes north of Airlie Beach, this sleepy seaside town boasts seven beautiful beaches that remain largely undiscovered by tourists. There is also a good range of accommodation from backpackers to four star absolute beach front apartments.

Cannonvale Just three minutes to the west of the tourist hot spot of Airlie Beach you’ll find its quieter, less known, but just as beautiful cousin Cannonvale. A perfect place to base the family, Cannonvale is conveniently located close to all the sights and sounds the Whitsundays has to offer. Cannonvale’s beautiful sheltered beach is perfect for splashing about with the kids away from the big crowds. There are children’s play areas, public barbecues and picnic spots along the water and at the end of the beach you’ll find a curious molten rock formation begging to be explored, with rock pools to be combed over at low tide. As the main residential centre in the area, the town has good shopping facilities as well as cafes, banks and the area's main post office. Launch your trailer boat at the boat ramp at the Volunteer Marine Rescue Club on Altmann Avenue. From Cannonvale you can easily get to Abell Point Marina or Shute Harbour to jump on board a cruise to the spellbinding Whitsunday island archipelago and Great Barrier Reef. Follow the boardwalk around the waterfront from Cannonvale right into the heart of Airlie Beach for a leisurely afternoon stroll or to get a bit of exercise.

Hydeaway Bay and Dingo Beach Hydeaway Bay and its sister town Dingo Beach are situated at the northern end of the Whitsundays, accessible by road from Airlie Beach. Quiet and secluded, these little hamlets are perfect for those seeking some rest and relaxation on long, sandy beaches with hardly another soul in sight. Endless horizons and picturesque views dotted with islands can be seen from numerous vantage points, and the hungry, thirsty or weary can stop for a bite to eat, a refreshing beverage or a night's sleep at one of the two eco establishments at Cape Gloucester or private holiday houses by prior arrangement.

Page 9

Proserpine Proserpine offers a change of pace and scenery from that of the vibrant Airlie Beach. Just 20 minutes inland from Airlie Beach, Proserpine is a charming, typical Australian country town offering traditional country hospitality. There is a range of accommodation from caravan parks and backpacker accommodation to motels conveniently located on the Bruce Highway for the tired traveller.

Seclusion Further inland from Bowen, Collinsville is a quaint country town, far enough away from the tourist hubs to be a country retreat, but close enough to retain that same friendly and welcoming attitude of all the Whitsundays locals. The region also has several secluded beach townships a short drive from Airlie Beach, offering caravan park accommodation, private holiday homes and eco resorts at which to stay. The long walks on the beaches are gorgeous and you will feel as though you’ve uncovered a hidden gem a little way ‘off the beaten track’.

Backpackers Airlie Beach has long been a popular destination, etched into the itineraries of international backpackers for years. Located halfway between Cairns and Brisbane, Airlie Beach is the stop for beautiful beaches, swimming, snorkelling, diving and sailing. At night, Airlie is a vibrant hub for backpackers with plenty of accommodation to choose from to rest your weary head after a night of partying. If you’re on a driving holiday there is a wide range of holiday parks and backpacking hostels with cheap van parking for one or multiple night stays.

B&Bs There are a number of small and private bed and breakfast establishments on the Whitsunday Coast. At each you will enjoy the friendly welcome of a Whitsundays local and the fresh, local produce our region has to offer. A B&B is a great place to stay for personalised and friendly advice, company and hospitality. The outlooks are varied, with some located in lush tropical surroundings and others with beautiful ocean views. The choice of breakfasts also range from multi course gourmet indulgences to organically prepared meals.

Indulging The Whitsunday Coast has a large range of four to five star resorts to stay in, most located perfectly to take advantage of those stunning views over the Coral Sea to the Whitsunday Islands. You’ll definitely feel like you’re on an exclusive island holiday from the moment you check in.

Diving the Great Barrier Reef One of the most highly regarded diving destinations on earth is the Great Barrier Reef, located in the heart of this natural wonder is the Whitsundays – the weather and water temperatures of the Whitsundays is the perfect mix for all year round scuba diving. The adventure sport of scuba diving has grown over the last few years, not only for the certified but also for those who wanting to give it a go. Whitehaven Beach Whitehaven Beach is a definite "must-see" in the Whitsundays. The crystal clear aqua waters and pristine silica sand of Whitehaven stretch over seven kilometres along Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays. It defines nature at its best and provides the greatest sense of relaxation and escape. As soon as you arrive it’s easy to see why it is the most photographed beach in Australia and has been named "Queensland's Most Beautiful Beach" by 'Keep Australia Beautiful' and Queensland’s Friendliest Beach more than once. cnn.com recently named Whitehaven Beach the 'world's top eco-friendly beach 2010'. At the northern end of Whitehaven Beach is Hill Inlet, a stunning cove where the tide shifts the sand and water to create a beautiful fusion of colours. As the tide shifts, the white silica sand and turquoise shades of the inlet blend seamlessly to create a

breathtaking view of swirling Whitsunday colours. For the best view, journey to the lookout at Tongue Point on Whitsunday Island. Time your lookout experience on low tide to fully experience the beautiful fusion of colours that surface. For bareboats, the best spot to anchor is in Tongue Bay, and tender into the beach to commence the short walk up the hill to the lookout across Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach and back down the other side to secluded Betty's Beach, at the tip of Hill Inlet. There are several ways to experience the beauty of Hill Inlet. Many companies offer day trips to Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet by ferry, power boat or luxury yacht. Most overnight sailing trips also stop here. Self-sufficient boaties and campers can even anchor overnight off the beach, or book a national park campsite and camp on the southern end of the iconic Whitehaven Beach itself. More on camping here. Scenic helicopter and seaplane flights over Hill Inlet promise amazing aerial views as the magical waters and sand dance below. However you choose to explore Whitehaven Beach, it will be an experience that you will remember for a lifetime. Visit Whitehaven with:

added protection of the reef wall has provided. NOTE: The Great Barrier Reef component and the Whitehaven Beach component of this tour can be sold individually. Where you go:
