Panchānga (Almanac) Calendar – 2014 Panchāngam: Panchāngam provides five basic elements of astrology, Tithi (lunar day or �me taken by moon to move 12 degrees), vaara (a day from sunrise to sunrise), Nakshtra (the Zodiac constella�on in which the moon is found on par�cular day), yoga (half-day) and karana (angle between sun & moon). These are the main aspects calculated according to the Solar, Lunar and the Earth posi�ons. These five elements play an important role in calcula�ng the muhurthas (auspicious days) for any Hindu rituals. There are three prevalent methods of calcula�on for Panchāngam used in different parts of India. Souramanam (Solar calendar - prevalent in Kerala and Tamilnadu), Chandramanam (lunar Calendar - prevalent in Andhra, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and other states of North India), Baarhaspatyamaana (Jupiterian calendar -which is said to be prevalent in North India).

Panchāngam in India and US: The lunar movements calculate Tithi and Nakshtra, the main angas of Panchāngam. When one Tithi or Nakshatram begins and ends, it happens at the same instance all over the world, which is called the Universal �me. Based on the �me zones, the Tithi and Nakshatram will begin/end at different local �mings in different parts of the world. Since India has a liHle varia�on in terms of sunrise/sunset, Panchāngam computed for one area of the country is generally applicable to the other parts of the country as well. But when it comes to other parts of the world, same universal �me should be translated into the corresponding local �me in terms of the longitude and la�tude. As North America’s PST is 13 ½ hours past Indian Standard Time, it is not appropriate to use the calendar, prepared for Indian local �me. Keeping these aspects in mind, our astrologers and scholars prepared Panchāngam calculated for our local �me, i.e. PST & PDT. In the current Calendar we have put all efforts to provide as many details as possible. For further details like Muhurthas, please consult our scholars, personally or through email. Daily use of this calendar helps everyone to understand and monitor the prevailing planetary forces of the day. Accuracy of the above men�oned Panchāngam aHributes depending upon Moon's mo�on are more crucial for the reliability of Panchāngam. Because Moon is the fastest among all the heavenly en��es shown in tradi�onal Panchāngas, Tithi, Nakshatra, Rasi, Yoga, and Karana depend on Moon's mo�on. There are three popular meanings of the term Panchāngam. Vedic astrology meaning is "five aHributes" of the day. The five aHributes are:

Tithi: Ending Moment (EM) of elonga�on of the Moon, the lunar day, the angular rela�onship between Sun and Moon (True Moon minus True Sun). One Tithi equals 12 degree difference between Moon and Sun.

Nakshatra: EM of asterism of the day, that is, the stellar mansion in which Moon is located for an observer on Earth. One Nakshatra equals 13 degrees: 20 minutes. There are 27 Nakshatra in 360 degrees.

Yoga: EM of the angular rela�onship between Sun and Moon (True Moon plus True Sun). One Yoga equals 13 degrees:20 minutes. There are 27 Yogas in 360 degrees.

Karana: EM of half of a Tithi. One Karana equals 6 degree difference between Moon and Sun. Rasi: The zodiac signs or rasi - EM of the sidereal sign of the zodiac for the Moon.

Tithi: The �thi is the longitude of the Moon minus that of the Sun. First �thi (Prathama) begins when �thi is 0° and ends when it is 12°; 12° to 24° is dvi�ya, 24° to 36° is Tri�ya etc. 168° to 180° is Poornima, 180° to 192° is Dark fortnight Prathama 192° to 204° is Dvi�ya.etc. 348° to 360° is Amãvãsya. So, there are 30 �this -15 are called Suddha (Shukla) Paksha (Bright fortnight or waxing phase) the other 15 Bahula (Krishna) Paksha (Dark fortnight or waning phase). The �thi of a day is usually taken to be the �thi current at sunrise on that day. Since the moment of the sunrise is not the same at all places it is to be noted that occasionally a �thi current at sunrise at one place may not be current at sunrise at another place. It is also possible for a par�cular �thi to be current at sunrise on two successive days. So when two successive days have the same �thi associated with them, the 1st day is called Tridina. It is also likely that a �thi may begin aXer sunrise and end before the next sunrise. In such a case a �thi is skipped over and that day is called AVAMA. The concept of good �ming is provided by this calendar and one can take advantage of auspicious moments by avoiding when the crea�ve forces of this planetary system are on the wane.

ANNADANAM is a sacred ac�vity. In Hinduism, there is no beHer puja and ritual than feeding hungry living beings.

ANNADANAM is MAHADANAM i.e. the greatest dona�on in Hindu religion and is an essen�al part of Sanatana Dharma

tradi�on. There are numerous stories in Hindu scriptures that extol the glory of Annadanam – prominent being Goddess Parva� appearing as Goddess Annapurnaeshwari and feeding Shiva.

- Food supports the body to attain Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. Donors of

Annadanam are considered as donors of Pranadanam. The person, who participates in this sacred Annadanam, will be blessed by divine Gods. It is said that glory, strength and fame will be acquired in Trilokas by Annadanam. The donor of Annadanam will get first entry in the heaven. Annadanam is performed for redemption of sins, to attain piety and to get speedy recovery from illness. The glory of family and holiness of a temple increases with each Annadanam. Annadanam can be performed on any auspicious occasions such as festivals, weekly abhishekhams, in memory of your beloved ones or in celebration of your beloved ones.

A Message from the Founder, Chairman and Chief Priest of VEDA I would like to extend my hear[elt and prosperous wishes for the New Year 2014 ahead to all the devotees of VEDA, in the bay area as well as from all parts of the country. Our vision and original plan for the year 2013 were fulfilled with Prana Pra�shtapana being a grand success with the help of all the dedicated devotees and the grace of Lord Sri Satyanaryana Swamy. Standing at the heart of the bay area, I feel that the Milpitas City has now transformed into “Melpitha Nagaram”, which is equal to Sri Chakra Peetham (bhaavana). The temple has become a great pla[orm to local ar�sts, like dancing, singing, language learning, spiritual classes, yoga classes, medita�on classes, and many local organiza�ons. Lord Satanarayana Swamy’s blessings will always be there with local organiza�ons like Silicon Andhra, BATA, Tamil Manram, Kannada Kuta, Bay Area Vasavi Founda�on (Sakhi), etc. In addi�on, we have been conduc�ng Vedam classes and Durga Saptasa� classes on every Wednesday evening at 8pm from several years. I express my humble gra�tude to past president Sri Jagadish Babu Pasumarthy and also extend my wishes to the current president Sri Krishna Viswanatham and office bearers. A Message from the VEDA Temple President Dear Devotees,

On behalf of the VEDA commiHees, I wish you all a very happy new year and look forward to a frui[ul 2014. Since its incep�on, VEDA has grown over the years into a well-recognized ins�tu�on, catering to religious, spiritual, and cultural needs and spreading awareness of Sanatana Dharma in the Bay Area. I feel privileged to serve this venerable ins�tu�on for a divine cause as President of VEDA.

Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Devasthanam (SSSD) had a monumental 2013. The first phase of construc�on of the Garbhagudi for SSSD started on January 2, 2013. I served as the President of the Construc�on CommiHee, an opportunity for which I am grateful. With significant leadership, support, and contribu�ons from VEDA commiHees, volunteers, and devotees, we completed the majority of the construc�on in a record �me of five months for the Prana Pra�shta. This highly aHended program provided us with the most divine and unique experience of our lives. AXer the Prana Prathishta, day-to-day opera�ons of SSSD immediately resumed in our new temple complex, and the new execu�ve commiHee commenced du�es. Our ini�al goals were to quickly opera�onalize the facility, to ensure the sanc�ty of the religious services, and to provide a safe, serene, and clean environment for devotees. We strove to make the facility fully func�onal and to provide an efficient work environment for the priests, and we took quick ac�ons to improve priest welfare.

As a sign of auspicious start to temple opera�ons, the temple hosted a talk on Devi Bhagavatam by Sri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma, Ashtavadhanam and Srimad Bhagavata Saptaham by Sri Vaddipar� Padmakar, and a weeklong Bhagavad Geeta camp by HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami. New programs such as weekly abhishekams for all dei�es and enhanced temple puja services were introduced. Other notable ac�vi�es with growing par�cipa�on were Ganapthi Navarathri and Sarad Navarathri celebra�ons and the ever-popular Karthika Masa Deeksha. I am happy to announce that we received formal approvals to hire two more priests to address the increasing demand by the devotee community for on- and off-site priest services from VEDA.

The execu�ve commiHee formally launched Phase II of the construc�on program to address the remaining func�onal and aesthe�c needs of SSSD. This includes the construc�on of the outer sikharam for the Rama Satyanarayan Swamy sanctum and inner sikharams for the Shiva, Vinayaka, Karthikeya, Durga, Saraswathi and Kanyaka Parameswari sanctums. The sikharam project also includes comple�ng all sthapthi-related work for the outer walls of all sanctums. In addi�on, we will install a semi-commercial kitchen, replace the aging roof, and improve landscaping. We also launched the abharanam program to procure abharanas and silverware for all dei�es and sanctums. These programs are structured to allow devotees to fund the cost with their generous contribu�ons, at various levels, with sa�sfac�on of par�cipa�ng in a divine cause.

As we look forward to serving VEDA and the devotee community, we want to ensure our temple sustains as an ongoing ins�tu�on with revenues generated through religious services, hundi collec�ons, and sponsorship programs such as floral and annadanam ac�vi�es. We also plan to complete Phase II of SSSD’s development with minimal debt burden on VEDA while fulfilling financial obliga�ons to ins�tu�ons and, more importantly, to those devotees who stepped forward to help VEDA at �mes of need. We aim for an efficient financial structure with clear visibility, responsibility, accountability, and controls.

On behalf of VEDA, I assure you that upholding our divine ins�tu�on’s beliefs and ensuring devotee sa�sfac�on is our paramount endeavor. I look forward to hearing from you and of your contribu�ons to VEDA as we con�nue on this journey together.

Preface for the Calendar 2014 Year aXer year, for the last 7 years, the temple’s unique calendar has been emerging as an integral part of devotees’ dinacharya. Albert Einstein

proved to the world that the three dimensions of space and the 4th dimension of �me are inseparable. The physical existence of the three

dimensions of our body and mind are incomplete without the context of �me. Time has some most powerful, divine proper�es, realizing which

will have a great impact on the three dimensions of our physical existence. These proper�es are not too difficult to comprehend, but we s�ll fail

to see them because of the abstract nature of �me. Instead, we get obsessed with the more percep�ble three dimensions of our physical body.

Fortunately, religion helps here. Hinduism is full of deep knowledge that reveals itself only to the analyzing mind that’s in constant quest for

truth. Truth is a maHer of �me. No lie can hide from �me. As said in Bhagavad Gita, �me is God Himself, who is the absolute truth. Truth is pure,

which is beau�ful (Satyam, Sivam, Sundaram). There is no death to Siva even when he drinks poison. Even Siva’s own power in Bhasmasura’s

hands could not destroy Siva. That's the power of truth, purity, and inner beauty: Satyam, Sivam, Sundaram. The purity that loves even

Bhasmasura; the truth that is accepted even when it is poison; the inner beauty that is conspicuous even when covered with ashes. The three

never die. Take all yuga purushas (the person of the �mes) – Sri Rama, Sri Krishna, and Lord Buddha. We see these three quali�es in abundance

in them. Time imbibes all the three quali�es into one who is in quest of these quali�es.

The VEDA calendar, which incorporates the panchanga and various unique features, can be used as one of the tools for such a quest. It helps

understand and prac�ce the impact of �me on life. This new year, let us resolve to bring about a paradigm shiX – from our obsession with the

destruc�ble, physical self to a deep indulgence into the 4th dimension of us – the �me. When we so indulge, we automa�cally do what the �me

likes and preserves – the good. We will also then perceive the energy or the life in us, which is indestruc�ble like the �me. Just like the principle

of conserva�on of energy, I believe there is this principle of conserva�on of life. The energy in us, called the life, never dies, even when the body

it takes on dies. It is this �meless, indestruc�ble life in us that we need to get obsessed with – not the transient physical forms that it takes on. I

earnestly believe and hope that the VEDA calendar is a great help to us in this loXy New Year resolu�on. Happy New Year and Happiness Always!

Śrī Satyanārāyana Swāmy Vratha Katha

Lord Krishna Says in Bhagavad Gita (Ch4.9) "Janma Karma cha may divyam yevam yo veththi tha-thwathah .... " One who knows My divine birth and act ivit ies wil l not be born again". Sri Satyanarayana katha is one such act ivity of the Lord, by studying which we have every chance of being l iberated. Sri Sathyanarayana katha forms a vital and integral part of this pooja. Not l istening to the katha wil l be a major loss. Repeatedly hearing this story and meditat ing on its different aspects wil l make us more and more interested in the Lord and His act ivit ies. As the Lord Himself says further in Gita (Ch9.14) "Sathatham keerthayantho maam yathanthascha dradhavrathaah: "The mahaatmaas among devotees, always speak and sing My glories, and try with determination, to realize Me".

Chapter 1

Once upon a time, the various sages assembled at the Naimisha forest and approached the great sage Soota, and asked him, "By doing which worship of penance can one's desires be fulf i l led? Please tell us." The great sage Soota replied, "Earlier the great sage Narada asked the same question to Lord Vishnu, the consort of Lakshmi. Let me repeat what Lord Vishnu told Narada. Please l isten intently."

Once, Narada, during one of his sojourns to the various worlds, came to earth. There he saw the people suffering as a result of their past deeds. To alleviate their sufferings and bring them salvation, Narada traveled to Vishnu Loka. There he found Lord Vishnu adorned with 'Sanhka', 'Chakra', 'Gadha' and Lotus in his four hands and a Garland around his neck. Narada spoke humbly: "Oh, Supreme Lord, the savior of the destitute and the troubled, I surrender at thy feet." Asked Lord Vishnu: "Narada. why have you come here? Tell me what you want and I would fulf i l l your wishes." To which Narada replied, "Oh, Bhagavan. people on earth are suffering in many ways as a result of their own past sinful deeds. Please bestow thy grace and reveal to me as to how they can be helped." Lord Vishnu replied, "Oh, Narada, mankind can r id itself of all its sorrows by performing a puja called SATYANARAYANA PUJA. This puja when performed according to religious r ites wil l bring happiness, peace of mind and wealth in this l ife and salvation beyond." On hearing this, Narada was f i l led with joy and addressed Lord Vishnu thus: "Oh Lord, in your inf inite grace, please tell me the details of the puja that you just mentioned, how and when to perform it and who has performed it before". Lord Vishnu answered: "This puja can be performed on a full-moon day, Ekadasi, auspicious days, when faced with diff icult ies or any day the devotee wishes to do. One must gather his friends and relatives perform the puja with devotion and offer fruits, ghee, milk, curd, butter, wheat f lour, sugar and honey to the god. After the puja is over, he must read the Satyanarayana Katha and distr ibute prasad to everybody. If the puja is thus performed, it wil l br ing fulf i l lment of one's wishes. Part icularly, in the Kaliyuga, this puja brings contentment."



Chapter 2

Maharishi Sootha continued addressing the assembled rishis, "Oh Rishis, I wil l tel l you who all have observed the Satyanarayana puja in the past. Once, there lived a very poor Brahmin in the beautiful city of Kasi. Plagued by acute hunger, he used to wander about here and there every day. Lord Vishnu took the form of an old man, appeared before the poor Brahmin and asked: "Friend, why are you wandering aimlessly?" The poor Brahmin replied. "Sir. I am a very poor man. Unable to bear the pangs of hunger, I beg for alms. Sir, if you know a way out of this misery, please tell me." Whereupon, Lord Vishnu, who was in the guise of an old man, replied, "Oh, Brahmin,Lord Satyanarayana grants his devotee's wishes and removes their sorrows. So you should perform his Puja and reap its benefits." Lord Vishnu then explained the details of the Satyanarayana Vratha to the poor Brahmin and disappeared. The poor Brahmin immediately resolved to perform the puja. After a sleepless night, he got up early in the morning and went to beg for alms, his mind f ixed on only one thing, namely the puja. That day he got a lot of money with which he bought fruits and milk, curd and honey and performed the puja with his relat ives and friends. With Lord Satyanrayana's grace, he shed his poverty and l ived a contented l ife. Every month on the full moon day he performed and f inally attained Moksha (salvation). Maharishi Sootha thus told the assembled r ishis the story which originally was narrated by Lord Vishnu to Narada Muni. The r ishis again addressed Maharishi Sootha: "Oh. the Great One. please tell us in detail who else performed the puja." Maharishi Sootha continued: One day when the poor Brahmin from Kasi was observing the Satyanarayana Vratha, a wood-cutter entered his house and asked for water. Seeing the Brahmin perform the puja, the wood-cutter inquired what the puja was about and what good it would bring. The Brahmin, who had been bestowed with Lord Narayana's grace, spoke: "This is called Satyanarayana Vratha. Anyone who observes this Vratha wil l get all r iches. I myself have been bestowed with wealth." The wood-cutter was delighted to hear this. He learned the proper way to perform the puja, ate the prasad that was offered and went his way. With Lord Satyanarayana in his mind, the wood-cutter resolved thar he would observe the Vratha with whatever he was going to make by sell ing f irewood that day. He went to that part of the city where r ich people l ived, sold the f irewood and made twice the normal prof it. Pleased with his luck the wood-cutter bought bananas, sugar, ghee,-milk, curd. honey and wheat flour and performed the Satyanarayana puja with his friends and relatives. By Lord Narayana's grace, he acquired enormous wealth and l ived comfortably and attained moksha (salvation).

Chapter 3

Maharishi Sootha continued: "Oh, best of ascetics, I wil l now tell you the story further. In the olden days there l ived a wise king by the name Ulkamukha. He had mastered all his senses and always spoke truth. He used to go to the temple every day and give gif ts to the Brahmins. His lotus-faced wife was a pure and pious woman. One



day, the royal couple was performing the Satyanarayana puja at the banks of the r iver Bhadrasheela. At that t ime a merchant called Sadhu sailed by. Seeing the King perform some puja, Sadhu stopped his boat, got off and addressed the king humbly: "Oh, King, would you kindly tell me what you are doing with such devotion and concentrat ion?" The King replied, "Oh, Sadhu, I have no children. In order that I may be blessed with children, I am worshipping the Almighty Lord Satyanaryana."On hearing this Sadhu spoke humbly: "Oh, King, please tell me how to perform the puja. I would l ike to observe the Vratha, as I too have no children." The King told him all the details. Sadhu returned home and with great joy told his wife that they should perform Satyanarayana puja which wil l fulf il l their desire to have children. He then resolved to perform the puja after the child was born. Then by the divine grace, Sadhu's wife Leelavathi conceived and in due course, a beautiful daughter was born to them. They named the child Kalavathi. One day, Leelavathi reminded her husband of his promise to perform puja. Sadhu told his wife that he would do the puja at the t ime of his daughter's wedding and got busy with his work. In the meantime, Kalavathi grew up and blossomed into a lovely gir l. Sadhu sent out messengers to f ind a suitable bridegroom for his daughter. One of his messengers found a good-natured and handsome boy in a Vaishya family from Kaanchana Nagar. Sadhu found the boy to be a suitable match for Kalavathi and celebrated his daughter's wedding with great pomp and show. But Sadhu completely forgot about the Satyanarayana puja and thus angered Lord Satyanarayana.

Then, one day Sadhu went on a business tr ip with his son-in-law. He stopped to trade at Ratnapura that was ruled by king Chandraketu. Lord Satyanarayana placed a curse on Sadhu. One day, some thieves robbed the king's treasury and were running away. The king's soldiers followed them in hot pursuit. The frightened thieves threw all the things they had robbed near Sadhu and escaped. Finding the king's treasure near Sadhu and his son, in-law, the king's soldiers arrested them and brought them before the king. The king ordered them to be chained and thrown into prison. Because of Lord Narayana's Maya, nobody even listened to what Sadhu had to say in his defense. King Chandraketu also confiscated all their merchandise. Lord Narayana's curse did not spare Sadhu's wife. Some robbers broke into her house and Leelavathi lost everything. One day, Kalavathi was very hungry and ran out of the house. She wandered here and there and stopped at a house where Satyanarayana puja was being performed. She stayed at that place unti l the puja was f inished and ate the prasad that was offered. When she reached home, it was late night. Leelavathi asked her where she had been. Kalavathi told her mother that she was l istening to Satyanarayana Katha in somebody's House. Leelavathi at once remembered her husband's promise to perform the puja and resolved to observe Satyanarayana Vratha herself . She collected all her relat ives and friends and prayed to Lord Saryanarayana to forgive their sins. Lord Saryanarayana was pleased with Leelavathi's prayers. He appeared before King Chandraketu in his dream and told him to release the two merchants from prison as they were not the real thieves. If the king failed to do so, Lord Narayana warned that his kingdom, wealth and children would all be destroyed. Next morning, the king told his counselors about his dream and ordered Sadhu



and his son-in-law to be released. The latter were frightened and stood before the king with bowed heads. The king talked to them gently and said, "You two have suffered a great deal because of your fate, but there is nothing to fear,"The king returned their merchandise, gave them new clothes and lots of gifts and bade them good-bye.

Chapter 4

Sadhu and son-in-law loaded their boat with the r iches given to them by the king and sailed homeward. Lord Satyanarayana wanted to test the Sadhu further. He took the form of an ascetic with a trident, appeared before Sadhu and asked him what he was carrying in his boat.Without realizing that the ascetic was indeed Lord Narayana in disguise, Sadhu laughed mockingly and said, "You Brahmin, were you thinking of stealing my things? We do not have any valuables in the boat except vessels and leaves." Whereupon Lord Nayarana replied, "Oh Sadhu, so be it." The ascetic then departed in great haste and stood by the seashore. When Sadhu went into his boat, he discovered to his horror that the boat was f i lled with vessels and leaves just as he had falsely told the ascetic. Sadhu swooned at the sight but he was revived by his son-in-law who spoke: "This must be the curse of the ascetic. He must be a mystic. Let's go to him and ask his forgiveness." The two merchants then went to the seashore where the ascetic was meditat ing. They fel l at his feet and repeatedly begged for his forgiveness. Pleased by Sadhu's devotion, the Lord said, "Sadhu, do not weep. You suffer because you have broken your promise time and again." On hearing this. Sadhu prayed to God, "Oh Lord, even Brahma and other Devas drowned in your Maya, cannot comprehend your form completely. How can I, with my l imited knowledge, comprehend your various forms? I pray within my l imited knowledge. Please show me your true form and bless me." Upon hearing his prayer, God was pleased and granted his wishes, restoring his merchandise in the boat, and disappeared. The two merchants then joyfully sailed homeward. On reaching their hometown, they sent a messenger to their wives to inform them of their safe arr ival. At that t ime, Leelavathi and Kalavathi were performing Satyanarayana puja. Leelavathi quickly f inished the puja and asked her daughter to do so. She then hurried to the seashore to meet her husband. Kalavathi, in her eagerness to meet her husband, forgot to eat the prasad and rushes to the seashore. This act ion of hers angered Lord Satyanarayana. He caused the ship and her husband to drown in the sea. Not f inding her husband, Kalavathi started weeping. All were wonderstruck and frightened. Sadhu was at a loss to know what to do. Thinking that it was Lord Narayana's Maya, he announced to that he would perform Satyanarayana puja and prayed to Lord again and again. At this, Lord Satyanarayana, the savior of the sinners, was very pleased and said, "Oh Sadhu, your daughter did not eat the prasad in her haste to see her husband, so I made him and the boat disappear. Let her go home, take the prasad and return." On hearing this, Kalavathi rushed and took the prasad. When she returned to the seashore, she found to her joy her husband and the boat. Then Sadhu returned home happily with his relat ives and performed the Satyanarayana puja every full moon day. With God's grace, he enjoyed all the comforts in this world and f inally attained salvation.



Chapter 5

Maharishi Sootha continued: "Once there was a king called Thungadhwaja who underwent a lot of misery after refusing the Satyanarayana prasad." One day, after hunting, he was rest ing under a shady tree. Some cowherds were happily performing Satyanarayana puja nearby. The King, in his vanity, refused the prasad they offered. On the way to his palace, he found that his kingdom, his 100 sons, his wealth and everything was destroyed. Then it occurred to him that Lord Satyanarayana was probably angry with him. He went back to the cowherds, prostrated himself before Lord Satyanarayana and performed the puja with great devotion. Lord Satyanarayana showered His blessings and the King regained everything he had lost earl ier. He l ived happily and reached Vaikuntha after death.

Maharishi Sootha said, "Oh holy men, I have narrated to you the Satyanaryana Katha which was originally told by Lord Vishnu to Narada Muni. By observing this Vratha, mankind can attain salvation. In this Kaliyuga, observance of the Vratha can lead to gratif ication of one's, wishes." Thus ended the narration of Maharishi Sootha after which Shownak and other r ishis returned to their respective places.

to Lord Viṣṇu reaches to none other than Lord Satyanārāyana Swāmy himself.
