ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

The quoted price for the item 11 of the Bill of Quantities shall include all necessary materials such as cables, PVC conduits, PVC sunk boxes, cable trunking etc. and labour required to complete the electrical installation according to drawing No.TCP/DGM/KOTU/GH/002 in good working order.All types of fittings, materials particularly cable trunking system and distribution boards shall be approved by the Engineer's representative prior to installation.The wiring installation shall comply with the requirements of IET Wiring Regulations, latest edition.The installation shall be properly grounded by means of a suitable earthing system comply with the requirements of IET Wiring Regulations, latest edition.

1.0 The Distribution BoardSupply and installation of single phase and neutral wall mounted Distribution Board complete with plastic enclosure with lockable door.It shall include incoming MCB, RCD, outgoing MCBs, busbars, terminals, mounting rails and all required accessories.

1.1 Miniature Circuit Breakers(MCB)The miniature circuit breakers (MCB) shall comply with BS 3871 Part I and shall have a Type 2 Classification or equivalent IEC classification. The frame size of all MCBs shall be the same so that they can be easily interchanged.Circuit breaker dollies shall be of the trip-free pattern to prevent closing the breaker on a faulty circuit and they shall be engraved to indicate the ON/OFF position.

1.2 Residual Current Devices(RCD)

RCD shall conform to BS 4293 and shall be sensitive to pulsating DC fault current. The RCD shall consist of a current transformer, a tripping coil with contact assembly, main supply contacts, ON/OFF switch, a test button and a trip-free mechanism, all mounted on robust body of all insulated material. RCD shall be suitable for operation on a 230V, 1-ph, 50 Hz supply and shall give trouble-free service in the locally prevailing climatic conditions.The tripping current shall be 30 mA.

2.0 Light Fittings

Light fittings shall be of the high quality CFL and each light fitting shall be subject to the approval of the Engineer's representative. Wiring of a light point includes supply of required cables, PVC casing, flush switch and all other required materials.

Wiring of ceiling fixed recessed, pendant or suspended type lamp light point from the distribution board, using 1.0sq.mm Cu PVC/PVC cable drawn through securely fixed surface PVC casing, controlled by a 10A flush switch.

3.0 Socket Outlets

All socket outlets shall be 5A switched, shuttered, single socket outlet complying with BS 546.Wiring of 5A power socket outlet shall be with 1.0sq.mm Cu PVC/PVC cable in radial circuits and 2.5sq.mm Cu PVC earth wire, drawn through the concealed PVC conduits, from the distribution board.
