Quadband technology supports Wireless N signals in both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency ranges simultaneously at full speed. This “true concurrent operation” allows you to check e-mail and browse the Internet using the 2.4GHz band while simultaneously streaming High-Defi nition (HD) movies and other media on the 5GHz band.

DOUBLE WIRELESS N GAINSWireless N technology offers more speed, extended coverage and virtually no dead spots compared with previous wireless technologies¹. Only now with the DIR-855, these benefi ts are also available in the untapped 5 GHz radio spectrum, which offers more channels and is less subject to interference, a growing issue in populated areas where Wi-Fi networks and multiple gadgets such as baby monitors weaken the signal.

WHY INTELLIGENT QOS IS BETTER!On traditional routers, applications like streaming video or games could pause or delay. This is because the router would not differentiate between urgent packets such as Voice over IP (VoIP), Video Streaming and online gaming, and less urgent ones such as Web browsing.With the D-Link intelligent StreamEngine technology, data packets are automatically analyzed and categorized according to their sensitivity to delay. Therefore, applications like VoIP, Video Streaming, and Online Gaming are given priority over Web browsing. This enables multiple applications to stream smoothly to your TV or PC. Intellligent QoS works on all the router interfaces: wired, wireless and Internet.
