This guide briey describes the functions of the CRICKETCROSSWAVE. For details about how to set the management

parameters, refer to Help on the web management page.

If the CRICKET CROSSWAVEis placed in an environmentwith poor ventilation, it may overheat after extended use.When it overheats, it will switch o or disconnect fromthe network automatically to protect itself. If this happens,place the CRICKET CROSSWAVEin a well-ventilatedlocation, then restart the CRICKET CROSSWAVE.

A Wi-Fi device or computer can be connected to the Internet throughCRICKET CROSSWAVE. The actual connection procedure depends othe operating system of the Wi-Fi device or computer. You can performconnection operations as prompted.

Note: To get the best signal strength try to position the CRICKET CROSSWAVE near a window and not in abasement. As a rough guide to Wi-Fi signal strength: When powered by a main charger up to 30 mindoors. When powered by a PC or with the battery up to 10 meters indoors.

Charging the BatteryNote: If you have not used the battery for a long time, it must be charged rst. If the power indicator blinks red during the charging, you must wait for the powindicator to blink green, and then use the CRICKET CROSSWAVE.

Only use chacertied and tested with industry stanUse of an incompatible charger, or onfrom uncertied or unidentied sourcemay cause the CRICKET CROSSWAVEto malfunction, fail, or even cause a rSuch use voids all warranties, whetheexpressed or implied, on the product.

Method 2: Charging by Connecting to a PC.

Connect the CRICKET CROSSWAVEto aPC using a compatible data cable.

Accessing the Internetvia Wi-Fi Connection

Please be reminded that you need to activate the device before ycan connect to internet through USB or Wi-Fi. Follow step by steinstructions below for activation.

Step 1: Power on the CRICKET CROSSWAVE

1. Power on the CRICKET CROSSWAVE

Press and hold the power button until the indicators comeon. The CRICKET CROSSWAVEis powered on.

Note:Press and hold the power button until the indicators turn o.This indicates that the CRICKET CROSSWAVEis powered o.

2. Establish a Wi-Fi Connection

a. Establish a Wi-Fi Connection (on a PC).

1. When the CRICKETCROSSWAVEis powered on,Wi-Fi is enabled by default.(If the CRICKET CROSSWAVE isusing battery power and has notbeen accessed for 10 minutes by

default, Wi-Fi is disabled. You canpress and hold the Wi-Fi button for3 seconds to enable the Wi-Fi.)

2. Select Start > Control Panel> Network Connections>Wireless Network Connection.

Note:To set up a Wi-Fi connection,the PC must be installed with awireless network adapter and the

wireless connection is turned on.If Wireless Network Connectionis displayed, the wireless networkadapter is available. Otherwise, checkyour wireless network adapter.

3. ClickView available wirelessnetworksto display thewireless network list.

4. Select the network CROSSWAVE-xxxx, and then click

5. If the encryption parameter is already set for the CRICKET

CROSSWAVE, the Wireless Network Connection dialog

box is displayed and requires you to enter the network

key and its conrmation. The SSID and Network key (Wi-Fi

key) label is axed to the back of CRICKET CROSSWAVE

under battery cover (See Picture for location reference).

b. Establish a Wi-Fi Connection (on a MAC).

1. Make sure that the Wi-Fi indicator is continuously on green.2. If AirPort is o, follow the steps below.

Go to AirPort icon andselect Turn AirPort On.

A window of available

Wi-Fi signals will beprovided. Selectthe CRICKETCROSSWAVE device.

Input the Wi-Fi KEYlocated under CRICKETCROSSWAVEbatterycover as Password.

Select Join.

3. If AirPort is on, follow the steps below. Go toAirPorticon and select the

CRICKET CROSSWAVEdevice. Input the Wi-Fi KEY located

under CRICKET CROSSWAVEbattery cover as Password.

Select OK.

3. Activate the Device

You can activate the device in either of the following ways:

a. The rst time you use the device, you can activate the device on tautomatic pop-up window.

1. Start the Internet browser

and enter http://192.168.1.1 inthe address bar.

2. Click onActivateon the

OTA Information window.

3. The Web Management Page will ask for

OTA conrmation. Select OK.

4. OTA activation progress will show and

take you through the process.

5. If the activation is successful, you will get

conrmation on the activation.

b. If the automatic pop-up window does not appear due to some reayou can choose Settings> System> OTA Activationto activate thedevice.

1. Start the Internet browser

and enter http://192.168.1.1 in

the address bar.

2. Click on on top right

hand corner of the webpage.

3. Enter User Name and Password.

Note: The default user name is cricket. The

default password is 0000.

4. Go to Settings> System > OTA

Activation.

5. SelectActivateto initiate OTA

activation.

6. The Web

Management

Page will ask for

OTA conrmation.

Select OK.

4. Access the Internet

After device has been successfully activated as abovesteps, access the Internet in either the On DemandorManualmode. The default mode is On Demand.

On Demand: If data transmission is required, the CRICKETCROSSWAVE will connect to the Internet automatically. If this no data transmission over a period of time, the CRICKETCROSSWAVE automatically terminates the Internet connect

Manual: Go to http://192.168.1.1. Select Connectiontab and click to dial to the network.

1. Power on the CRICKET CROSSWAVE

Press and hold the power button. When the indicators come on,this indicates that the CRICKET CROSSWAVEis powered on.

2. Establish USB Connection

a. Turn o Wi-Fi connectivity on the computerwhen using USB connection.

b. Connect the CRICKET CROSSWAVEto computer with USB datacable provided in the kit. Computer will automatically detect theCRICKET CROSSWAVEand prompt installation window.

3. Install CROSSWAVE

Install CROSSWAVE (Web Management Page) on PC.

a. When USB is connected, computer will automatically detectthe CRICKET CROSSWAVE and initiate AutoPlay.

b. Select Run AutoRun.exe.

Note:If AutoPlay was not triggered for anyreason, go to PC desktop or Start menu and

select My Computer.Then Select CROSSWAVE.

c. Follow step by step instructionunder CROSSWAVE Setup.

1. Select a language.

2. Select Next.3. Accept license

agreement byselecting I Agree.

4. Choose installationlocation. Defaultlocation is

suggested.5. Select Installto install theCROSSWAVE.

6. Check Createwebsettingshortcutto haveCROSSWAVE displayed on desktop.

7. Select Finishfor

completing installation.8. Device would automatically initiate driver installation.Allow some time for the CRICKET CROSSWAVEdriver to be automatically installed.

9. When driver installation is complete, restartingof the computer is required. Please restart yourcomputer to nish the installation process.

Install CROSSWAVE (Web Management Page) on MAC.

a. When USB is connected, computer will automatically detect theCRICKET CROSSWAVEand launch CROSSWAVE window.

b. Select Cricket Broadband CROSSWAVE Driver to start programinstallation.

c. Welcome to theDriver Installerwindow appears.Then selectContinue.

d. Press Continueon Software License Agreement window.

e. Read the license terms. Then selectAgreeto continue.

f. Select Install.

4. Activate the Device

You can activate the device in either of the following ways:

5. Access the Internet

After device has been successfully activated as above

steps, access the Internet in either the On Demandor

Manualmode. The default mode is On Demand.

On Demand: If data transmission is required, the CRICKET

CROSSWAVE will connect to the Internet automatically. If thereis no data transmission over a period of time, the CRICKET

CROSSWAVE automatically terminates the Internet connection

Manual: Go to http://192.168.1.1. Select Connectiontab and click to dial to the network.

Power Saving Mode

If no operation is performed on the CRICKET CROSSWAVEfor a while,the power indicator slowly blinks green, and all other indicators are o.

If the CRICKET CROSSWAVEis using battery power andhas not been accessed for 10 minutes (by default), it goesinto the hibernate state and Wi-Fi is disabled.

When the CRICKET CROSSWAVEis in the hibernatestate, press and hold Wi-Fi button to enable Wi-Fi.

Enabling/Disabling the Wi-Fi Function

When the CRICKET CROSSWAVEis poweredon, Wi-Fi is enabled by default.

Press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the Wi-Fi indicator iscontinuously on green. This indicates that the Wi-Fi is enabled.

Note:Press and hold the Wi-Fi button until theWi-Fi indicator is o. Wi-Fi is now disabled.

Restoring Factory Defaults

If you forget the changes youmade to some parameters,you can choose to restore thefactory defaults and recongurethe CRICKET CROSSWAVE.

To restore the factorydefaults, press andhold the RESET button until all the indicators are o. Allfactory default settings are successfully restored.

Note:After this operation, all personal conguration settings are deleted and allweb-based management settings and parameters are restored to their default val

Tips

If you are experiencing trouble using the CRICKETCROSSWAVE, do the following:

Go to Help on the web management page. Restart the CRICKET CROSSWAVEand repeat the instructions Restore the factory defaults and repeat the instructions. Contact your service provider.

1. Turn on the PSP WLAN switch.

2. Select Settings> Network Setti

3. Select Infrastructure Modeto connect your local Wi-Fiaccess point.

4. Select New Connectionto speca mnemonic connection name(such as CRICKET CROSSWAVE).

5. Select Scanto detect allnetworks within range. Theaccess point list is displayed.

6. Select the SSID the same way asdid for the CRICKET CROSSWAVThen press the button of your machine consecutively to conrm

the SSID and to input the Wi-Fi k SSID: The Wi-Fi name of the

CRICKET CROSSWAVE. WEP: The Wi-Fi key of the

CRICKET CROSSWAVE. The default SSID and

key label is axed to theCRICKET CROSSWAVE.

7. Press the button of your game

machine to continue, and then pthe X button to save the settings

8. Select Test Connectionto checkthe connection. If the test succeyou are online successfully.

9. Go to Internet Browser.

2. Automatically detect the networks in range,and then display the access point list.

3. Select a network having a namethat is the same as that of the

CRICKET CROSSWAVE.4. If necessary, enter a password and

tap Join. (Networks requiring apassword appear with a lock icon).

Note: The Wi-Fi Clients, such as iTouch, PS3, andNDS, can also access the Internet via the CRICKETCROSSWAVE. For details about the operation,follow the user guides of the Wi-Fi Clients from

the above consumer electronic devices.
