Secured WLAN-WPA2 implemented

The biggest challenge for all wireless users is securing their WLAN. In order to solve it, PLANET uses the latest authenticating and encrypting mechanism, WPA2. Enterprise users can install a RADIUS server in local network. All wireless connection requests will be redirected to RADIUS server for identification, thus achieving the goal of accounts centralizing control. Moreover, WPA2 has a special mode called Pre-Shared Key (PSK) for home users to obtain the high level security as well.

About the Antenna Connections for PLANET WLAN Products

There are two types of antenna connectors used on PLANET WLAN products, RP-SMA and N-type. And all external antennas provided by PLANET are N-type connector. Therefore, the cables are necessary when connecting the AP and the antenna.

For the products with RP-SMA connector, such as WAP-4000, the installation needs a cable to convert SMA connector to N-type connector. There are three optional cables for such usage: WL-SMA-0.6, WL-SMA-6, and WL-SMA-0.6 plus WL-N-10. Thus, the maximum distance between AP and antenna can up to 10.6 meters.

Regarding the products with N-type connector, such as outdoor WLAN series, usually PLANET will bundle a 30 cm N-type to N-type cable in standard product package for antenna connection. We also provide a 60 cm cable, WL-N-0.6, to facilitate users when installing in certain conditions.
