The reliablehot and cold water pipe coupling

The WIPEX-coupling is designed to give an excellent tight grip. The gripping strength is higher than the ten-sile strength of the pipe, and the sealing performance is unaffected by temperature fluctuations.

WIPEX-couplings are robust and simple in design, can be fitted very easily and quickly even in difficult locations and confined spaces. The ring spanners used when fit-ting the coupling are very small and convenient to use in relation to the size of the coupling.

The WIPEX-coupling is patented, tested according to DVGW (Germany), NKB (Sweden), CSTB (France), KIWA (Holland) and approved.

The WIPEX-couplings and fittings are made of dezinci-fication resistant brass or gun metal.

O-rings are used to seal between the couplings and pipe fittings.

The WIPEX-fittingsystem allows for an extremely wide range of connection combinations.

The WIPEX-coupling is a very safe coupling that is easy to install. All tools needed are two fixed keys plus a pair of pliers.

The various materials used in the couplings and pipe fittings have been specially selected and tested to ensure high mechanical strength and good resistance against corrosion.

The WIPEX-coupling is specifically designed for connecting cross linked polyethylene pipes, produced by Wirsbo, for hot and cold water in domestic and district heating installations. The coupling is available for pipe dimensions 25-110 mm, in two series marked PN 6 and PN 10.

Function of the coupling

A wide range of pipe fittings and o-rings are available for the WIPEX-couplings, as shown in this brochure. O-rings are used for sealing all joints in the WIPEX-

assortment, and the necessary o-rings are supplied. If a coupling or a pipe fitting is to be fitted to some other component, seal the threaded joint with linen yarn, flux

or a linseed oil based compound. Each coupling is supplied with detailed fitting instructions.

Easy to assemble

1. Cut the pipe in cross section with a

plastic pipe cutter.

2. Chamfer the pipe bore with a

deburring tool or knife. Remove any

external burrs.

3. Dismount the outer clamping sleeve,

by removing the bolt and widen the

outer clamping sleeve with pliers.

4. Place the bolts head, between the

clamps and remove the clamping

sleeve from the coupling.

5. Mount the outer sleeve on to the pipe

and then the pipe on the insert sleeve

of the coupling. Note! Make sure

that the clamping sleeve is mounted

correctly, the locking groove must be

turned towards the inner sleeve.

7. Tightening the WIPEX-coupling.

Insert the bolt in position and tighten.

Important to lubricate the bolt threads

before tightening. Suitable lubrication

Molycote or lubrication oil.

8. Tighten until the pads are in contact

with one another.

6. Mount the outer clamping sleeve,

so that the locking groove on the

clamping sleeve is in engagement

with the support sleeve.
