ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Any person (not enrolled in high school) 16 years of age and over may attend. Some courses require trade experience while others have specific prerequisites. License preparation courses have additional criteria as provided in the rules and regulations of the regulato-ry entity.

ATTENDANCE: Unless otherwise noted, classes meet weekly for three hours per session on days or evenings as noted.

CERTIFICATES: A Certificate of Completion for each course or program is issued to successful completers by Middlesex County Adult Technical Schools, subject to approval by the instructor and principal, given course or program criteria are met. Additional credentials may be available as part of, or may be attained by a student independently after, course or pro-gram completion.

COST: A Course Fee is charged for most courses and pro-grams. A student residing out of Middlesex County is charged a Course Fee plus $50.00, certificate programs plus 30%. Senior citizens (55 years of age and older, not working full time) residing in Middlesex County 80% of the Course Fee and the full amount for other fees. Senior Citizen discounts do not apply to Adult Certificate and full-time programs, or to out-of-county residents. Students are expected to purchase required textbooks and personal protective devices, such as safety glasses with side shields. A set Materials Fee applies to con-sumable instructional materials, tools, lab use, and tests. A minimal charge applies when projects are made from school supplies and taken home; such as, baked goods and bird-houses. An Application Fee, when required, is non-refundable.

INSURANCE: The Board of Education does not pay any medi-cal or hospital bills incurred as a result of an accident to stu-dents in the school. Individuals desiring insurance coverage must purchase coverage privately.

NOTES: Classes may be cancelled due to weather. Lost time for cancelled classes is neither made up nor subject to re-funds. The school reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or combine classes when enrollment is insufficient or other scheduling problems exist.

ONE-STOP CAREER CENTER RESOURCE PARTNER: Middlesex County Vocational & Technical Schools is a Middle-sex County Workforce Development One-Stop Career Center Resource Partner. A Job Seeker can access a wide variety of services at the One-Stop Career Center in New Brunswick and the satellite center in Perth Amboy. Some of the services of-fered include: internet access, job leads and placement through job postings and referrals, resume writing workshops, job search workshops, career and vocational counseling, labor market information, and aptitude and interest testing. REFUNDS: A full refund applies when a course or program is cancelled for administrative reasons prior to the first scheduled session. A pro-rated refund applies when the same occurs after classes have begun. NO REFUNDS ARE OFFERED AFTER THE SECOND CLASS MEETING WHEN A STUDENT WITHDRAWS. Should the school exercise the right to com-bine similar classes, no refunds will be offered. No refunds will be given for one day and two day classes unless it is request-ed 10 days before the class begins. Application Fee and Reg-istration Fee for adult certificate programs are non-refundable regardless of cause for separation.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS: In case of inclement weather or other emergency, announcement of school closings will be posted on the school website and broadcast on radio stations WCTC-1450 AM and WMGQ-98.3 FM. Basic Plumbing – This course is ideal for the homeowner who is interested in doing some plumbing repairs on their own or even individuals looking into plumbing as a profession. Refrigerant Handling Certification - This course presents information and service practices needed to meet EPA requirements to contain, conserve, and reuse refrigerants. Shielded Metal Arc Welding Certification The Shielded Metal Arc Welding course is designed to teach students about arc weld-ing safety and the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process (SMAW-Plate), proper tech-niques and electrode selection for welding plate in various welding positions (3G,4G) to meet AWS welding code. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to perform and pass the 3g, 4g test, as well as general entry level production and maintenance welding in fabrication shop, machine shop, oilfield, pipeline, petrochemi-cal, power plant or refineries on mild steel, and carbon steel. This course contains 64 hours of practical training time for each position (64 hours for 3g and 64 hours for 4g). This course will be taught two times per week for four hours per night, for a total of eight weeks per position. Admissions Process High school age youth with the approval of their parents or guardians, may make application to ap-propriate programs offered by the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High Schools. Applications are available at the schools of all mu-nicipalities of Middlesex County. Students are offered admission to the Middlesex County Voca-tional and Technical High Schools based on aca-demic achievement, career and technical evalua-tion, interviews and the recommendation of the guidance counselor from the local school district.

Students interested in attending our high schools at East Brunswick, Piscataway, or Perth Amboy should complete the standard high school applica-tion.

Students interested in attending the Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technolo-gies at Middlesex County College or the Academy for Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences at Woodbridge should complete an application for admission for the specific Academy of interest.

Students who require specialized programs or sup-port within any district school due to an identified educational disability, should complete the Special Needs application.

Students with disabilities who are interested in attending the Career Choices shared-time, eighteen week program for eighth grade students at the Woodbridge school, should complete the Career Choices Orientation application.

In instances of limited capacity for a program, ap-plicants from within the county shall be admitted first. Otherwise, qualified applicants shall be ad-mitted on a first come, first served basis.

No tuition shall be charged to residents of Middle-sex County for admission into the day high school programs, but non-resident students shall pay tui-tion as set by the Board of Education.

To qualify for entrance at the ninth grade level, a student must have completed the eighth grade. Transfers shall be accepted at other levels provided students have completed the work required for the level in the school from which they wish to trans-fer. Additionally, to enter at grade 12, a student must have previously completed one year of career and technical education in the career major of their choice.

Agriscience Technology (EB) Occupational instruction in floriculture, horticul-ture and hydroponics introduces students to a vari-ety of career opportunities in the Agriscience in-dustry. Students learn about plant germination, soil content, floral design, landscaping, greenhouse management, seed cultivation, the use of hand and power equipment, and sales. They participate in the student organization, (FFA), which encourages leadership, citizenship, and entrepreneurship. Graduates pursue advanced degrees or may be employed as greenhouse technicians, landscape contractors, design architects, interior plantscapers, floral designers, propagation workers, groundskeepers, nursery production workers or forester aides.

Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences (ACA/W) The Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences pro-gram provides accelerated college prep students with the opportunity to take four different semester courses that introduce them to the introductory skills and knowledge of the allied health and bio-medical science fields. An example of the topics covered are safety, first aid, the stages of the life cycles and research processes.

Architecture Technology (EB) Architecture Technology is designed to challenge students interested in architecture, building con-struction, computers, drawing, design and engi-neering. Students translate design drawings into working drawings manually or through the use of computer assisted drafting systems. They draw floor plans, elevations, sections and details of buildings, and design simple buildings. Graduates are employed as drafters for Architects, Mechani-cal Engineers, Structural Engineers, Civil Engi-neers, Surveyors and Developers.

Arts Technology (EB) This program prepares individuals to apply artistic, technical and dramatic principles and techniques to the communication of dramatic information, ideas, moods, and feelings through technical theatre methods. Includes instruction in set, lighting and sound design, live and recorded sound and lighting production, scene building and decoration, proper-ty management, costuming, technical direction and production and use of computer applications to support these functions. Students will work collab-oratively on projects with the Performing Arts pro-grams in Theater, Dance and Digital Filmmaking and other school and district functions.

Automated Office Technology (PI) Utilizing the latest office technology, students have the opportunity to master skills needed to enter and compete for jobs in office careers, re-quiring advanced technical skills. Technical train-ing includes keyboarding, Microsoft Office soft-ware, computer technology, record keeping, bookkeeping, office operations, applied business English and mathematics. Graduates begin careers as Data Entry Specialists, File Clerks, Administra-tive Assistants, Bookkeepers or Receptionists. Many graduates continue their education as they work.

Automotive Collision Repair Technology (PI) Highly skilled automotive collision repair techni-cians and refinishers are needed to meet current and future labor market demands. Technical in-struction to prepare students includes basic auto collision repair, alignment parts, panel replace-ment, glasswork, custom trim and painting. Stu-dents also gain knowledge of mechanical and sus-pension components, engine accessory systems, emission control systems, drive systems and cli-mate control systems. Graduates enter employment in the trade area or enroll in post-secondary educa-tion.

Automotive Technology (EB/PA/PI) The Automotive Technology program provides students the opportunity to excel in specialized training of automotive engine operations, vehicle maintenance and repair, steering and suspension systems, computerized engine controls, brake sys-tems, electrical systems, fuel and ignition systems and front end alignment. A challenging curriculum prepares students with opportunities to master skills required to pass Automotive Service Excel-lence (ASE) certification examinations. Graduates may pursue employment, continue their education, or enroll in an Associate Degree program in Auto-motive Technologies at Middlesex County Col-lege. This is a joint program between the college and the vocational schools.

Baking (EB/PI) Graduates of the baking program enter culinary careers to become bakers, pastry chefs, production workers, merchandising/marketing sales personnel, managers, supervisors and business owners. In-struction is provided in production, mixing, mold-ing, bench makeup, oven work, cake decorating, sales and delivery, sanitation and safety engineer-ing. Students participate in storefront, buffet and banquet operations.

Carpentry (EB/PA) This program emphasizes the fundamental skills and knowledge needed in the carpentry trade. Stu-dents learn the use of hand tools and the operation of all common woodworking machines. Students enrolled in the program also learn the basics of home construction, planning, design and cost esti-mates. Safety, mathematics and related drawing are also taught. Upon graduation, students have the opportunity to apply to an apprenticeship program, or to pursue advanced training.

Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology (ACA/E) This four-year program offers the student an op-portunity to explore the areas of Civil and Mechan-ical Engineering Technology. The Civil Engineer-ing curriculum offers students a practical overview of this dynamic discipline by examining the inter-related fields of structural, geo-technical, transpor-tation and environmental engineering and con-struction management.

The Mechanical Engineering curriculum, which is combined with Civil Engineering, encompasses the design of such diverse systems as missiles, power-plants, robots and machine tools. The spectrum of professional activity for the Mechanical Pre-Engineering graduate runs from research through design and development to manufacturing and sales. Because of their comprehensive training and education, mechanical engineers are often called upon to assume management positions.

Computer Applications for Business (PA/PI) This program is designed to present to the student the knowledge of computers and computer applica-tions as it relates to the business world. This pro-gram will move the student through the basics of keyboarding and micro processing fundamentals to the applications used in the world of work. The program will include coursework in the current version of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Publisher. In addition, the student will be intro-duced to Web Page Design utilizing Front Page and other web page design programs.

Computer Assisted Drafting (PA/PI) CAD technicians work with engineers, physicists, architects, surveyors and builders. Utilizing com-puter assisted drafting systems, students learn how to translate ideas into working drawings. In a high-tech CAD laboratory, students make and read sketches and drawings, they learn the principles of orthographic projection, and skills needed for tech-nical, architectural, electrical, welding and piping drafting. Graduates enter a demanding labor mar-ket or pursue higher education.

Computer Systems Technology (PA/PI) Combining skills in operating systems, computer architecture and networking, the student will de-velop the capabilities to design, construct, install and trouble-shoot a range of computer systems and networks. Students are prepared candidacy as A+ and network certified technicians. This program is offered at our Perth Amboy and Piscataway Cam-puses. Special academic requirements must be met in order to enroll. See a Guidance Counselor for further details.

Cosmetology/Hairstyling (EB/PI) The program is designed for students to success-fully achieve theoretical and practical skills needed to pass the State Board of Cosmetology license examination and enter employment. Instruction includes all phases of hairstyling, cosmetology and barbering. Students learn haircutting, shampooing, manicuring, scalp treatment, facials, makeup, hair coloring, permanent waving, hair straightening, shaving, and anatomy and physiology. Clinical experience in shop-simulated labs provide oppor-tunities for hands-on training and experience in shop operations and management.

Culinary Arts (PA/PI) This course develops skills in the culinary arts and prepares students for the many occupations availa-ble in the restaurant industry. Instruction empha-sizes understanding essential cooking techniques, which can then be adapted to create innovative new food items. Instruction also includes food sanitation, nutrition and use of equipment. In a simulated restaurant, students prepare and execute a daily lunch menu and learn front and back opera-tions in a restaurant. Employment opportunities range from sous chef, working chef, pantry work-er, garde manger, pastry assistant, or kitchen sani-tation worker. Post secondary opportunities are available in various culinary schools and colleges. This program is certified by the American Culi-nary Federation (ACF). Students are prepared to take ServSafe and ACF Certification exams.

Electrical Technology (PA) Students in this program learn the fundamentals of electrical skills and theory. Instruction includes commercial and residential wiring, installation and maintenance of wiring and equipment in terms of electrical code, electrical maintenance and repair, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting. Graduates

secure employment as electricians and many choose to continue their education.

Electronic/Computer Engineering Technology (ACA/E) This four-year program offers the student an op-portunity to explore the areas of Electronic and Computer Engineering Technologies. The Elec-tronic Engineering course introduces the student to a variety of topics including: power distribution, motors, generators and electronic engineering, integrated circuits, digital and analog hardware; electromagnetic fields, and communications. Con-trols require the understanding and exploitation of electrical, electronic and magnetic phenomena. As an electronic engineer technician, you can work as an engineering associate designing, refining, and building electronic equipment. The Computer En-gineering course introduces the student to the knowledge of DC, AC semiconductor, operational amplifier and microprocessor theory and their ap-plications in analyzing systems operations. The course also includes a detailed background of com-puter networking systems, hardware, software, and industry troubleshooting procedures. Detailed knowledge of microprocessor, embedded control-ler, embedded processor, and operation of multi-processor systems and relevant troubleshooting procedures are also covered.

Graphic Design: Commercial Art and Illustration (EB) If you're interested in a career in the world of visu-al communications, the Commercial Art training program is for you. Students learn illustration, lay-out and design, painting, drawing, airbrush, and computer graphic skills. They produce the draw-ings or illustrations for advertisements, books, magazines, posters, record album and video co-vers, 3-D designs, fabrics, interior design and bro-chures. Each student prepares a portfolio of work for application purposes into employment or high-er education. Graduates of the program might work as graphic artists, display workers, illustrators or paste-up artists for publishers, advertising agencies and communication industries.

Health Technology (PI) Students in Health Technology are introduced to a broad range of healthcare and allied healthcare careers. These services are provided either directly or indirectly to meet preventative, therapeutic, diagnostic, convalescent, rehabilitative, and custo-dial health needs of individuals and their commu-nity. The program enables students to spend time in area hospitals and health facilities exploring different career paths. Job opportunities in tech-nical areas include long-term health care facilities, radiology, operating room, cardiology, respiratory, pharmaceutical, physical therapy and dietary. Graduates can also pursue post-secondary degree programs.

Middlesex County Vocational & Technical Schools www.mcvts.net Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Re-frigeration Technology (EB/PA) Students in the program use meters, measuring instruments, tools and equipment and they inter-pret sketches, schematics and diagrams. Instruction includes installation, maintenance, repair, and knowledge of duct systems for various types of equipment in residential and commercial systems and solar heating technology. Graduates are em-ployed as technicians or installers. They may work with local contractors or pursue advanced training.

Machine Tool Technology (EB) Nearly every industry employs machinists, either in production work, maintenance work or tool making. The machine trades program will chal-lenge students who are interested in design, engi-neering or computers. Instruction includes blue-print reading, geometry, trigonometry, machine theory, metallurgy, measuring techniques and computerized numerical control. Students work with all types of metal alloys, plastics, woods and composite materials. Graduates from the program will have skills and experiences that will benefit them in all technology based trades and college studies in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design. Job opportunities include work as machine operators, tool and die maker's apprentice, mold maker apprentice, and CNC operator. Multimedia Art and Design (EB) This course emphasizes traditional drawing, paint-ing, layout, digital photography, multimedia com-puter skills, graphic design, illustration, art history, photography manipulation, printing knowledge, and multiple creative production process. Each student will have the opportunity to use tools and equipment in the multimedia art and design field and will learn how to perform the operation of the multimedia art and design trade, including: the critique and reevaluation process, drawing, paint-ing, art history, multimedia game design, mobile technologies, and animation. Instruction includes planning, setting, proofing, reading, mathematics, marking, and correcting documents and imagery.

Performing Arts: Dance (EB) The School of Performing Arts educates and pre-pares students who have demonstrated a strong interest in the fields of Dance and Theatre. Dance students have a daily dance techniques class in modern dance, ballet or jazz. The dance curricu-lum includes choreography, dance production, criticism and dance history. This program pro-vides professional training and preparation for advanced post-secondary studies.

Performing Arts: Theatre (EB) The School of Performing Arts educates and pre-pares students who have demonstrated a strong interest in the fields of Dance and Theatre. Stu-dents are immersed in an innovative arts infused curriculum that is challenging and incorporates

performance-based learning. The theatre curricu-lum includes acting techniques, principals of pro-duction and design, theatre history, improvisation, directing, playwriting and criticism. This program provides professional training and preparation for advanced post-secondary studies.

Performing Arts: Digital Filmmaking (EB) This is a program that prepares individuals to com-municate dramatic information, ideas, moods and feelings through the making and production of films and videos. This program includes instruc-tion in theory of film, film technology and equip-ment operation, film production, film directing, cinematographic art, film audio, techniques for making specific types of films and/or videos, me-dia technologies, computer image making, multi-media production and the planning and manage-ment of film/video operations.

Pre-Engineering and Manufacturing Technolo-gy (EB) The Pre-Engineering and Manufacturing Technol-ogy program will prepare students to apply basic technical skills and engineering principles to in-stall, troubleshoot and support the production pro-cess found in a wide array of modern manufactur-ing facilities. The program will include instruction on tools, materials, machine mechanics, production process, automation, quality control, instrumenta-tion, programmable logic controllers, electricity and electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, process control, computer aided design and robotics. Stu-dents that complete the program will have valuable skills and experiences sought by advanced manu-facturers as entry level advanced manufacturing machine mechanics, automated machine operators, or mechatronics technicians. Students will also be prepared to enter into postsecondary studies in Engineering or Industrial Technology. Welding Technology (PI) This course provides a student instruction in elec-tric welding, oxygen acetylene welding, manual and automatic oxygen acetylene cutting and inert gas welding (using both the tungsten inert gas and metal inert gas methods), and plasma arc cutting and welding. Instruction also includes metallurgy and blueprint reading. Students build structures and repair broken or cracked parts according to specification. Graduates enter employment in the trade or begin apprenticeship or post-secondary training. Students wishing to have a work experi-ence may elect the work-study / School-to-Career Program. In this program student’s work for credit within the school system or on approved sites in Middlesex County. The type of work done by stu-dents is determined by availability of workstations. Typical experience is after school.

Special Needs Department

Middlesex County Vocational & Technical High Schools are proud of the accomplishments achieved in providing career and technical training programs for students with special educational needs. Our schools offer specialized career and technical training for Special Needs students at three of our five Vo-Tech campuses. Full-time CTE/academic programs are taught entirely on the career and technical campus; shared time (1/2 day) programs are taught at the career and technical campus and home high school. Our goals are for Special Needs students to receive New Jersey High School Diplomas, and to prepare for the world of work. We are pleased that 90% of our Special Needs students find employment in the fields for which they are trained.

Agriculture and Ornamental Horticulture (PI) Today there is an increased interest in the use of flowers, landscape plants and lawn services; and there is a demand for trained floral and landscape designers, propagators, and landscaping/grounds-keeping workers. Instruction in this program in-cludes plant germination, seed cultivation, soil content, floral design, landscaping, and greenhouse operations and equipment operation. Students par-ticipate in FFA, which encourages leadership, citi-zenship, and entrepreneurship. Graduates are em-ployed as landscape contractors, floral designers, groundskeepers, and nursery production workers, or pursue advanced training.

Apparel Services/Clothes Processing (PI) Instruction in this program includes the care and maintenance of fabrics, dry cleaning plant opera-tions, laundry service, garment repairs and altera-tions, customer service and counter procedures in a simulated training laboratory. Graduates are em-ployed as dry cleaners, laundry workers, front counter clerks, inspectors/checkers, sales clerks, or may enroll in advanced training programs.

Auto Repair (PI) Automotive Repair specialists build, maintain and repair the mechanical, electrical, and body parts of cars, trucks and buses. They may also service trac-tors and other gasoline and diesel powered equip-ment. Instruction includes automotive diagnostics, and major automotive repairs. Students learn to use motors, engine analyzers, measuring instruments, repair manuals, and computer scan tools. Gradu-ates find employment opportunities as service technicians, shop supervisors, dealer preparation technicians, tire repairers, auto maintenance tech-nicians, or may pursue advanced training.

Automotive Services (EB) This program stresses the basic jobs, operations and skills needed in the servicing, diagnosis and repair of automobiles. Students will gain a thor-ough knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used by auto mechanics. They will learn to use meters, diagnostic equipment, and measuring in-struments; learn to interpret sketches, schematics and diagrams; and use service manuals and other shop materials. Graduates of the program are em-ployed as dealer preparation mechanics, brake spe-cialists, tune-up mechanics, service mechanics and parts distributors.

Basic Business Technology (EB/PI) Clerical workers make up the largest single occu-pational group in the United States. The Basic Business Technology program prepares students for entry-level employment. Instruction includes keyboarding, office procedures, word processing, duplicating, and operation of basic office ma-chines. Graduates may pursue advanced training or find jobs as clerk typists, duplicating clerks, file clerks, receptionists, mail clerks, and general of-fice workers.

Building Maintenance (PI) Maintenance technicians repair and maintain phys-ical structures of commercial and industrial facili-ties. Instruction in this program includes basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, masonry and small engine repair. Students also learn painting, rug cleaning, and installation of floor tiles and car-peting. Graduates work as carpenter's helpers, building maintenance technicians, sanitation tech-nicians or custodians.

Building Services/Maintenance (EB) Students prepare for careers in the building ser-vices industry through the study of commercial cleaning, maintenance and grounds keeping opera-tions. Students learn to use power and hand tools, apply materials used in cleaning procedures, paint-ing, spray buffing, machine polishing, and basic carpentry, electricity, plumbing, small engine re-pair and landscaping skills. Graduates enter the labor force as sanitation technicians, custodians, landscapers, groundskeepers, carpenter's helpers, plumber's helpers or maintenance technicians. Carpentry (EB/PI) Students who enroll in the Carpentry program learn the basics of home construction, planning, design, safety, and cost estimates. Hands-on train-ing in construction projects ranges from frame-work to detailed millwork. Graduates are qualified to enter jobs as home construction carpenters, fur-niture designers or may choose to pursue advanced training.

Culinary Arts: (EB/PI) This course develops skills in the culinary arts and prepares students for the many occupations availa-ble in the restaurant industry. Instruction empha-sizes understanding essential cooking techniques, which can then be adapted to create innovative new food items. Instruction also includes food sanitation, nutrition and use of equipment. In a simulated restaurant, students prepare and execute a daily lunch menu and learn front and back opera-tions in a restaurant. Employment opportunities range from sous chef, working chef, pantry work-er, garde manger, pastry assistant, kitchen sanita-tion worker. Post secondary opportunities are available in various culinary schools and colleges.

Dry Cleaning (EB) In a simulated storefront dry cleaning laboratory, students work on customers' garments and study under real working conditions. The student is in-structed in fabrics, dyes, chemicals, solvents, the dry cleaning process, spotting, operating finishing equipment, and dry cleaning procedures. Students learn the operation of cleaning machines, counter procedures, quality control, management skills and inventory control. Graduates work as dry cleaners, laundry workers, pressers, front counter clerks, sales clerks, inspectors, assemblers, or pursue ad-vanced training.

Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (EB) This course provides instruction in the three major areas of environmental controls: Heating furnace or hot air heating; Ventilation duct work, sheet metal, and fans; and air conditioning condensing units, coils and refrigerant. Study includes heat transfer, airflow, electrical wiring, conduit and furnace installation, sheet metal sizing, fabrication, and installation of air handlers and condensing units. Graduates enter domestic, commercial or industrial employment as technicians, installers, sales engineers, testers, or pursue advanced train-ing.

Medical Assisting (EB) A program that prepares individuals, under the super-vision of physicians, to provide medical office ad-ministrative services and perform clinical duties in-cluding patient intake and care, routine diagnostic and recording procedures, pre-examination and ex-amination assistance, and the administration of medi-cations and first aid. Includes instruction in basic anatomy and physiology; medical terminology; medi-cal law and ethics; patient psychology and communi-cations; medical office procedures; and clinical diag-nostic, examination, testing, and treatment proce-dures.

Supermarket Careers (PI) The supermarket career program is designed to enable students to gain skills, which lead to em-ployment in supermarkets or retail stores. The course provides instruction in safety, communica-tions, store front operations, cashier, produce, gro-cery, dairy, frozen foods and human relations. Em-ployment opportunities for graduates include mate-rial handlers, stock/inventory clerks, shipping, receiving, damage clerks, maintenance, checkers, cashiers, managers or entrepreneurs.

Employment Orientation (ACA/W)-This program is designed as an 18-week, half-day, shared-time, career diagnostic program open to special needs students in the eighth grade. Students explore three major career clusters: Food and Health Tech-nology, Construction Technology, and Digital Me-dia Technology. The goals of the program are to train and to enable each student to develop ac-ceptable work habits and attitudes, explore trade areas, determine their career interests and abilities, and to develop a 10-year career plan.
