Dear I-ACT Very Important People (Our members):

Does it seem like time is flying? I can remember when we were celebrating the new millennium, and here we are, about to say goodbye to 2010. Ten years passed in the blink of an eye. When we take time to reflect on what we have accomplished, are you satisfied with where you are at?

This is an interesting thought. Is your business growing as you projected? Are you growing spiritually? Are your relationships growing as you hoped? Perhaps during this Holiday Season, you can find some time to sit and reflect on where you have been and where you are going.

You are a very important part of our association, and the service you provide to your clients is a very important part of their health program. People in our profession are a very select group of special people. You are willing to give of yourself to help others try to improve their lives. For your service, you are honored. You are blessed because of what you do for others. I thank you for being you; I thank you for caring, and I thank you for sharing.

With all that you do, and all that you have done for others, you have a special place in our hearts. However, at this time of year, it might be helpful for you to take some time for yourself. I understand how hard that is for you to do, but I believe it is important for you to honor yourself also. Take some time to reflect on your life and what you have done and want to do in the future. Take some time to set up a plan of action for your life. Finally, take some time to do something nice for yourself. You deserve it.

Now that you are rested and relaxed and have a plan of action, you are ready for 2011.

2011 will be a fantastic year for I-ACT.

In February, during our first face to face Board meeting of 2011, we will be reviewing the long range plans for our association. We will establish a framework for where we want I-ACT to be in the next 10 - 20 years. If you have any suggestions, we welcome your inputs. This is your association, and we want to hear from you. Send your suggestions to the I-ACT office and they will be reviewed during the February Board meeting.

Additionally, we have a wonderful Convention planned for Portland, OR. Our Board meeting will be on Monday and Tuesday (June 20 & 21, 2011). You are welcome to attend. On Wednesday (June 22), we will have our committee meetings, and the mandatory School / Instructor meeting. The presentors start on Thursday, June 23, 2011. We have some fantastic speakers scheduled and we hope to see you there. We are working on a special surprise for this Convention, but cannot make any announcements at this time. We will let you know if we have been successful.

We hope you had a Wonderful Holiday Season, and wish you a Healthy and Prosperous 2011.

Truly,

Pam Craig ([email protected]) I-ACT PresidentAll is in Divine Order

Now that we have completed the validation of our exam, we cannot stop there. We have to keep the exam cur-rent and that means starting the process all over again. In order to ensure that we will always have a valid

Classes and Training in Bodywork with Colon Hydrotherapy

There are a vast number of colon hydrotherapists who address diverse aspects of my profession. Many are about diet while others cleansing with weight loss, and countless more encourage products, but no one is addressing the foundation of mechanics and function; the root to sustain change and equilibrium. If symptoms of the Large Intestine alone are our focus without consideration to its origin, we miss the mark as facilitator and educator; at best we will only parallel traditional medicine. My experience with Colon Hydrotherapy began in 1973. As a Therapist, the concepts, relevance and expanding bodywork which I pioneered from 1977~1982, currently and perpetually identified as the original Bodywork with Colon Hydrotherapy, are the foundations that paved the way for many more Colon Hydrotherapists and methods to follow. The two presentations I facilitated at the 2000 and 2001I-ACT conventions demonstrate this account and establish a history of knowledge and skill. Professional Standards & Ethics Committee - Report Greetings Everyone

for the New Year. Originally titled Website Compliance, we began as a subcommittee of the Education committee by board direction. The primary task grew from identifying areas of concern and non-compliance by members with the

on the new task of developing policies on standards and ethics of practice for colon hydrotherapy.

In previous publications we have discussed the terms copyright, trademark and intellectual property rights. These legal terms are used to protect material developed by an association, an individual or a business entity. Everything produced by I-ACT including the logos used by our association fall into each of these categories. In our efforts to encourage members to use of the member logo we discovered that our association logo was available on Google to anyone.

Advertising on the Internet is the one area that receives consistent expressions of concern by our membership.

home based locations, etc.

So recently, during a discussion on this topic, a question was asked regarding how other professions advertise. Would a massage therapist state in an advertisement, “My Hands Are Better Than the Hands Over There.” Probably not. So ask yourself, “Is the advertising related to the service offered, experience and skill of the individual or does it just knock the other guy?”

Think about this, would you put some of the words currently used to advertise or promote your business on a bill board in New York’s Times Square? As you go about your day, think about the decisions you make before completing a purchase. When choosing to purchase any service or product what stands out for you, what closes the deal?

Education, Experience, Skill level, Recommendation from trusted source, Cost of service or product, Hours of

operation or how the person answers the phone?

SUCCESS  IN  THE  MAKING

As  we  celebrate  our  corporation’s  first  anniversary  on  December  9th,  we  reflect  back  on  the  excitement  we  had  as  our  first  speculum  came  off  the  assembly  line  on  May  12,  2010.

It  seems  like  yesterday,  that  we  found  ourselves  in  the  worst  turmoil  of  our  lives.  October  2009  we  had  lost  our  jobs,  as  well  as,  our  financial  and  emotional  investment.  It  was  time  to  take  control  of  our  own  destiny.    As  all  of  you  entrepreneurs  know,  it  isn’t  easy  starting  a  new  business.    After  contemplating  many  avenues,  we  could  not  deny  that  colon  therapy  was  in  our  hearts.    We  knew  that  there  had  to  be  something  we  could  do  to  help  facilitate  the  future  success  of  this  incredibly  beneficial  therapy.

Developing  the  Smooth-‐Tip  speculum  took  three  long  months  of  design  and  engineering  work;  and  an  additional  two  months  of  fine  tuning  our  injection-‐mold  to  perfection.  The  end  result  was  a  speculum  that  would  be  comfortable  enough  for  the  most  sensitive  client.

As  our  company  grows  we  assure  you  that  we  will  be  there  for  you  just  as  you  have  been  there  for  us;  with  understanding  and  compassion.    There  is  no  unimportant  customer,  big  or  small;  there  are  no  silly  questions,  nor  a  time  of  day  that  you  can’t  reach  us  by  phone  or  email.

Schools / Instructors need to teach I-ACT students.

Three years ago, the I-ACT Board, at the recommendation of the Education Committee - with input from all Instructors, made a determination that Instructors or schools that did not attend the meeting would be placed on a Provisional Instructor status and would have to provide a “show cause letter” explaining why they did not attend the meeting.

They had until
