As Singapore’s underground space becomes more congested with various competing needs such

as underground basements, utilities tunnels and rail infrastructures, the construction of new

underground rail lines has correspondingly become more challenging, complex and pushing the

boundaries of engineering.

C937 had successfully overcome many challenges such as foundations of building, close proximity

to national monuments, in-service rail lines with only 1m separation and diversion to Singapore

River.

This project was recognised as Singapore Top 50 Engineering Feats @ IES-SG50, presented by

Prime Minister Lee, as well as the Winner in the 2016 International Tunnelling Award

Competition (Above Euro 150m category), 1st prize of Hulme Prize 2015 by Tunnelling and

Underground Construction Society Singapore (TUCSS), Project Safety Commendation Award 2014,
