Windows
The story of our Traditional Windows starts in Gloucestershire in
2011. With considerable experience within the window and door
industry, we noticed a sizeable gap in the existing marketplace.
What if you wanted a 19th Century flush sash timber window, but
with all the benefits of uPVC? The idea soon became reality. A
bespoke systems house was formed to develop specific products
for niche, heritage markets.
We then went on a journey to design a window and door system
where tradition meets modern day manufacturing and extrusion
processes. The Traditional Window was born. Every aesthetic
feature of the Traditional Window is associated with the bygone
age of craftsmanship including flush sash to the outside of the
window and options such as deep Georgian bar, forged black
or pewter hardware, monkey tail handles and peg stays. Though
the styling is clearly a fusion of traditional design and sightlines,
the modern day materials and 9 chamber design offer enhanced
thermal properties, high security options and are virtually
maintenance free.
The Traditional Window system is designed to replicate 19th
Century timber windows, but fuses traditional aesthetics with
modern materials to create a window that is both elegant and
energy efficient. The perfectly flush exterior recreates a true timber
alternative aesthetic, whilst the interior is stylishly decorative,
creating a classic home feel. The modern material is virtually
maintenance free; no painting or staining required. Cleaning your
windows needs minimum effort meaning they look newer for
longer, leaving you time to do more of the things you love.
Traditional windows out perform many other window systems
due to the combination of sophisticated design, innovation
and technological advancements. You can choose from highly
efficient double or triple glazed units, attaining U-values of 0.8 with
triple glazing, PassivHaus Standard, and 1.2 with double glazing, far
surpassing the British Building Regulation requirements. All off this
contributes to lower energy bills, keeping you cosy in the winter
and cool in the summer.
Our uPVC sash windows are among the highest quality and most
durable fenestration products available. Our uPVC profiles are
multi chambered having a significant impact on its strength and
efficiency. With no risk of warping or rusting, there’s no reason not
to seriously consider uPVC sash windows.
Modern windows no longer require sash horns, but they can be
optionally specified to give the visual appearance of traditional
timber box sash windows.
We are also able to offer a deep bottom rail option for replicating
existing windows. A true heritage uPVC design is now available
with the added benefit of improved visual aesthetic appeal.
Our uPVC sliding sash windows come with an easy clean tilt
facility as standard (same exclusions apply), which allows both top
and bottom sash to tilt inwards.
With all of our windows, you have the opportunity to request SBD
(Secured by Design). SBD focuses on crime prevention of homes
and commercial premises and promotes the use of security
standards for a wide range of applications and products, including
windows and doors helping to put the resident at ease.
The glass specification is the most significant component when
affecting the windows overall thermal efficiency. Each sliding sash
window is supplied as standard with 24mm double glazed high
performance units and manufactured in accordance with
British Standards.

Thanks to the unique soundproofing capabilities, Britelite
secondary glazing can reduce the noise pollution caused by
various sources. For many homeowners, traffic noise is their
biggest concern. In these instances, Britelite secondary glazing
with correctly fitted thicker glass can make a world of difference.
Warmth is a valuable commodity and creating a second barrier to
the elements is an ideal way to reduce wasteful thermal heat loss.
In fact, there are few better ways.
The creation of an insulating layer of air is as important in the
retention of energy as the fitment and seals. With the right glass,
the result can be a reduction in heat loss by as much as 65%.
Secondary Glazing
For thermal insulation, low-E glass (optional) is often the best
choice because the glazing has been designed and engineered
to provide:
3 the very best single glazing insulation
3 maximum energy conservation
3 an extremely discreet installation
3 an environmentally friendly solution
3 an affordable investment
Horizontal sliding windows are versatile and provide easy access
to the outer window. The sashes slide within the frame, so
few problems are encountered with blinds, curtains or ceiling
bulkheads. Individual windows can be linked with mullions and
transoms allowing large and ribbon windows to be treated.
