Definitions for various acronymns:CHANGES - Changing Habits and Achieving New Goals to Empower Success. A Life Skills program.
EA - Educational Achievement as measured by the TABE test.
EPEC - Elective Personal Enrichment Classes
ESL - English as a Second Language
HSEC - Refers to Texas High School Equivalency Certificate. WSD offers the GED® (General Educational Development) exam to qualified offenders.
LAA - Lead and Achieve Academy. Courses at designated campuses for students under age 22. Courses are designed to enhance literacy, leadership, and employability skills.
TABE - Tests of Adult Basic Education is a multi-level standardized education achievement (EA) test for adult populations used to measure academic offenders. The subtests cover reading, math computation, applied mathematics, and language. TDCJ - Texas Department of Criminal Justice
