Historisches Rathaus: Münsters Wahrzeichen – hier wurde 1648 der Westfälische Frieden verkündet. Schloss: Errichtet vom Barockbaumeister J.C. Schlaun als fürstbischöfliche Residenz, heute Sitz einer der größten deutschen Universitäten, der West- fälischen Wilhelms-Universität. Zum Schlosspark gehört der über 200 Jahre alte Botanische Garten. Erbdrostenhof: Münsters schönster Adels- hof, erbaut ebenfalls von Johann Conrad Schlaun, ist reizvoller Blickfang und immer wieder Schauplatz spannender kultureller Events. Clemenskirche: Das dritte „Barockjuwel“ mit seinem prachtvollen Innenraum wurde originalgetreu restauriert. St. Lambert’s Church: From the tower of the old market church hang the three cages in which the bodies of Anabaptists were displayed in 1536 as a deterrent to others. City Museum: From the city’s foundation to a café from the 1950s – Münster’s history goes on show on two floors, in 33 display cabinets and in numerous models. Residence: Built by Baroque architect J.C. Schlaun as a residence for a prince-bishop, it now houses the central administration of one of the largest universities in Germany, the Westfälische-Wilhelms-Universität. The Botanical Garden, over 200 years old, belongs to the Residence Park. Aasee: Just a short walk from the Old Town, the lake attracts visitors to its green surroundings along picturesque paths, with its refreshing mixture of culture, leisure and nature. Erbdrostenhof: Münster’s finest aristocratic town house, also built by Johann Conrad Schlaun, is not only lovely to look at but also regularly houses exciting cultural events. St Clement’s Church: This third Baroque jewel with its magnificent interior was restored true to its original design.
