SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Over 40 yrs of martial arts training (Began studies in Oct 1978). High level black belt ranks in multiple systems.
To get a complete look at my total martial arts experience, go to https://www.conleysmartialarts.net/bill-
conley-aka-hanshisifu-c.html. Presently, I am now a full time martial arts instructor in four (4) locations: St
Stephen, St Andrews, St George, NB & Calais, ME. I have over one hundred students with a staff of assistant
instructors of fifteen. I keep a hands on approach to my operations. That applies to student instruction,
structuring classes, coordinating/directing my staff, and working/dealing with people > both with students and
parents. Upon retiring from radio in December 2012, I became a full time professional instructor of martial arts.
I have over 34 yrs of teaching experience in the martial arts. I am the President/Founder of The Shurikan Dojos
Association, and internationally; I am a member of the Senior International Council for the American Karate

Functioned as an assistant to Mr. (Sensei) Ken MacDonald from 1982 -83. Mr. MacDonald (a retired British
military officer, Korean War Vet, and martial artist), he offered seminars in Institutional and Executive Security
for venues and for high profile individuals (Impact Associates). I was his assistant when he came to New
Brunswick, he was based out of Toronto, Ontario. It was through his training that I received, which allowed me
to put into motion, my coordinating the security for the Lee Aaron concert (1991) in St Stephen.
Served, since 2003, in the full capacity of a (reserve) uniformed police officer full and part time for the Pleasant
Point & part time for Calais Police Departments. I started out as a full time police officer with PPPD, but upon
returning to radio, transitioned to a part time, reserve role. I retired my commission with CPD in November
2014.
Through my positions in radio, worked with venues (some local), media, national promoters and agents (Hal Joe
Productions, Donald K Donald, and Bronsen Entertainment) on concerts: Glass Tiger (1989 & 90) & Lee Aaron
(1991) in St Stephen, NB, Cheap Trick (1990) & Joan Jett (1991) in Baileyville, ME, and Kiss/Winger/Slaughter
