Outlook on FootballBy Nate Masters

It’s that time of year again. Morrison High School Football is almost under-way. After two scrimmages in the next two weeks, Morri-son will open the season on September 1st in the home of the Pawhuska Huskies, who are coming off of a 2-7 season. Last year, the Wildcats beat the Huskies 30-12. With last season’s semi-final run, the community is fired up for the upcoming season, and the expectations for the Wildcats are high. While the loss of six seniors doesn’t help the team, they are returning a core group of starters that all have experience and can help the new starters and younger players develop. The Wildcats are poised to have a great year and a great playoff run. They will scrimmage the Woodland Cougars today at 6:00 p.m. in Woodland.

Dear Miss Kitty Dear Miss Kitty,How do I fix my sleep schedule to wake up on time for

school? -Tardy Student

Dear Tardy Student,It always helps if you go to bed earlier if you are having trouble getting up in the morning, as well as waking up early enough to complete your morning tasks so to not arrive late at school. Another thing that can help is having a reliable source to wake you up, such as an alarm clock or a fami-ly member, so you can always get up at a consistent time in the morning, which makes it easier to form a reliable sleep schedule. Lastly, I find that preparing for the next day the night before can help make your mornings easier when you wake up and thus make it easier to make it to school on time. As long as you know how many hours of sleep you need and you know what it takes to get ready in the morning, you can adjust when you go to bed and wake up so to get up feeling rested and make it to school on time. Best of luck, Miss Kitty

Movie ReviewsBy Tyler Wehrenberg

Spider-Man Homecoming

Spider-Man Homecoming is a great addi-tion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe being the sixteenth film spanning over the last ten years. Personally, this Spider-Man was my favorite by far and does something that all the other Spi-der-Man movies could not do. This reiteration of Spider-Man focuses more on the struggles it is to be a high schooler and a superhero at the same just like the comics that were made back in the 60’s. Tom Holland is the perfect person to play the role of Spider-Man, with his talents and hobbies being gymnastics and dance. All and all Spider-Man is a great film and it will not disappoint and I recommend that every-body either rent or purchase Spider-Man Home-coming when out on DVD with the release date being sometime in October.

Fastpitch season is in full swing. The Morrison Lady Cats are looking to build on their district championship from last fall. They return several key play-ers from last year’s team and they will have no shortage of starting experience. Coach Hatter’s team opened their season at home on August 7 with a thrilling 7-6 victory over Covington-Douglas in the bottom of the 7th inning. The following day the Lady Cats fell to Davenport in an 11-5 loss at home. On August 10 at the Ripley Tournament they went 2-1, including a pair of 6-1 wins over Woodland and Ripley, but a 7-0 loss to Drumright, a state semi-fi-nalist last season. The Lady Cats were scheduled to play Oilton in the 3rd place game of the Ripley Tournament on August 12, but the game was rained out. A regular season rematch at Davenport was also rained out on Monday. The Jennifer Lazenby Invitational began Thursday in Morrison and Glencoe after initial rain delays. The Lady Cats dom-inated Coyle in their first game of the day, winning 11-0. In their 2nd game of the day they grinded out a 3-0 win over Ringwood. The game against Ringwood featured a pitcher’s duel with a no-hit-ter by sophomore Kaylyn Raper. An impressive 4th inning catch by sophomore Devyn Bales helped save the no-hitter and senior Telain Williams added two runs with an inside-the-park home run in the 3rd inning. The Lady Cats will continue tournament play Friday at 11:45 in Morrison.
