Boyd did her research in many different ways. One similar trend I’m starting to find is that all the people who study social media seem to immerse themselves in it. This one had to do primarily with friending on social media sites and one of the most popular websites for this I feel is myspace. She interviewed many people as part of her research. Not only did she interview many people but many of them were different ages. She did many surveys that she had many individuals participate in which really helped her out. I never really thought about doing surveys with people who use social media sites for knowledge and I think that’s very smart. Boyd is saying that there are controversies on the way that you so called “make friends” on these sites. Most the time people can add someone as a friend that they really know nothing about. Sometimes people can be complete enemies can be friends on these sites. One thing that causes controversy on these social media sites is the top friends, which you can do on myspace. It seems a bit ridiculous to pick a top 8 or 12 friends. There really is no ranking system for friends on these so you’re either on the top or you are completely ignored. I think it would be interesting if you were able to rank the person you are friend requesting and this way you would have a very intense structure of how well you know certain individuals. Boyd uses a couple different forms to back up here research. She uses some of her own experience and feelings but she primarily uses her interviews. She has many quotes to back up her claims. She has a name and quote for many different situations in this friend debate. I think this really helps her argument. 34

Being an international student I get this question so many times. What I also get asked about alot is where I'm from...which is too long to go into..I'm way into robotics but as it's a niche job I've decided to go into Mechatronic Engineering which is mechanical, electronics and software engineering...so Chico Statebcuz it's the first university in the United States to offer this course. So I'm very excited to be here for my course in this awesome university!...
