tomography. Reconstructivetomographyisawidelyusedtechniqueinmedicine,forexample,for
obtainingtheshapeofaninaccessibletwodimensioanlobjectfromasetofdifferentonedimensional
shadows castbythatobject.
Quantumstatereconstructionispossibleifasystemcanbepreparedrepeatedlyinthesamestate.
Subsequentmeasurementsonsuchasystemaretheneffectivelymutltiplemeasurementsonthesame
quantumstate.ThetheoreticalWignerdistributionshownaboveforthedoubleslitexperimenthasbeenreconstructedfortheheliumatom.[See,Nature,386,150(1997).
