What the Heck?

Most people don’t get it the first time they try it

Why would anyone want to tell others what they are doing at any particular time and why would anyone care? (other than their mom!)

What you see, is not what you get

Twitter is an incredibly powerful tool for your personal learning, connecting with others, and engaging classroom activities

Think of Google’s simplistic interface

Very easy to sign-up for and to use

Effective communication tool for concise messages and news items, or links to longer messages and articles

Powerful networking capacity

Fun to use and may, therefore, be effective in engaging students in discussions

It may become the only tool you use to network and find great resources (it has become mine!!)

Once you find people to follow and talk to, however, Twitter becomes exceptionally useful

You can share thoughts, ask questions, get updates about news, music, brands, and businesses, and discover helpful links and information

Finding good people to follow, especially for new users staring at a blank page the first time they log in, can be a bit daunting, though.
