Chemical cleaning system is an efficient system and gentle way to clean heat exchangers and other system equipment by using chemicals. Together with the client we go through the problems on the equipment. More often, the customer has an output reduction due to dirt / coatings in the systems that blocks / decreased flows.

We then develop an action plan and an effective and gentle cleaning chemical that is suited for the equipment. With the help of our chemists, we always find a good chemical cleaning system whatever kind of dirt and equipment the customer has.

The approach being applied is that we are using custom fit designed equipment that circulates the specialized cleaning chemical through the system. Through filtering one sees how contamination slows down time. This process is done in a scheduled time frame depending on the size of the equipment and how much dirt / coatings are available in the equipment.

What is the chemical cleaning system?

What type of equipment is suitable for chemical cleanings in Smurfit Kappa?– Mainly heat exchangers and closed systems. It would also work on the lines and on our part, mainly green liquor lines.

Why do heat exchangers and other equipment get coatings and lose power?– With us, it is mostly the humus arising from the raw water intake. Then I think of time, heat and air can also affect this, and even the media that are in the system.

Any improvement before and after cleaning has been done?– We definitely have seen improvement after WIBAX cleaned our heat exchangers. As a percentage, we can see an improvement of about 75 percent. Our heat exchangers are a very important part in the production process. With these cleaning opera-tions, we avoid malfunctions and in the worst case downtime.

What advantages do you see with a chemical clea-ning against a mechanical cleaning?– Its primarily time being saved because chemical cleaning is faster. It also requires less personnel performing work. You also get a cleaner equipment and minimizing the risk of installation errors that can occur during a mechanical cleaning.

Do you recommend these chemical cleanings to others?– Yes, for sure. This is a very flexible way of working, together with WIBAX we have a complete solution for the work at hand. WIBAX personnel are very knowledgeable and perform work in a good and se-rious manner. I only have a good overall impression for WIBAX.

Spring is here and the hope of a warm summer season this year started with a proper presum-mer heat during the May month. For us, this pe-riod is an extra busy and exciting time for dust salts which we have launched at a full speed after a slight delayed start for many contracts were negotiated.

We have also added another company in the Group, WIBAX Oy in early May, a milestone in our history. January Pekka Korhonen has been appointed Managing Director of our Finnish subsidiary. The company will be based in Kotka which is also the company’s registered office. This is indeed a very exciting development for us, but also poses a big challenge. Although we are starting from scratch in Finland, we have a strong organization to backs us up. Kotka is strategically located in the southeastern side of Finland with close proximity to several major paper industries. The city is also close to the Russian border and has good logistic connec-tions through railway.

WIBAX Logistics bagged in May the country’s Major Transport Prize Award as the best truck-ing company in 2013. The prize is a result of a long-term strategic work wherein the hard work of all of our dedicated employees has been one of the key success factors.

WIBAX WIBAX opens a new subsidiary in Kotka, Finland

Starting May 2013, the Group has a new subsidiary in Kotka, Finland named as WIBAX Oy. Jan-Pekka Korhonen has been hired as Managing Director. He will lead WIBAX activities and expansion in Finland.

WIBAX Oy is targeting to serve the following industries; pulp and paper, mining and metallurgy, water treatment and road maintenance.

Basic chemicals such as sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and formic acid are some of the cost effective products that WIBAX Oy will be supplying the Finnish market with. These products are often distributed from WIBAX own terminals, which is also part of future plans for WIBAX Oy. Specialized products are produced in WIBAX production facility in Piteå, Sweden. Wibax Energy AB has commissioned an indepen-

dent audit to verify if Wibax as a supplier meets the Sustainability Criteria for biofuels and bio liquids.

This is Wibax’s own initiative to ensure that the biofuels being supplied to the market are sus-tainable and provide zero-tax to the customers. Sven Flodström, environmental consultant at ÅF Infrastructure carried out the audit and sum-marized “WIBAX control is accurate, reliable and protected against fraud.”

Bo Wiklund received the Role Model Norr 2013 Award during Entrepreneur Awards in Umeå last 29th May. He is recognized for his hard work in establishing WIBAX and is a great role model for Swedish entrepreneurs.

– This audit survey shows that we have a good control sys-tem that ensures that the biofuels we sell are sustainable and therefore give zero-tax to our customers. Furthermore, we are able to assist our clients to obtain their own certifica-te, says David Wiklund-Marketing Director, WIBAX Energy.

– I began my employment at WIBAX in January 2010. Since then I have the respon-sibility for the marketing of Wibax ”perfor-mance chemicals”. Performance chemicals include cleaning products, defoamers, cor-rosion and encrusting inhibitors included.I have also participated in efforts to develop new concepts for cleanups where we offer comprehensive solutions that includes on site chemical cleaning by WIBAX person-nel. I have a challenging job and it is highly stimulating to work with my colleagues, to cooperate and contribute to WIBAX growth.

– I have been working with Wibax Logistics for 7 years. In line with the company’s deve-lopment and growth, I also grew personally by working with different tasks in the logis-tics department. I have worked with recei-ving orders, railway transport coordination, sales, sodium chloride transport, traffic and nowadays even personnel administration. This has given me a better understanding and a holistic approach to the business. I like it when I get to work closely with both office employees as well as all drivers of WIBAX.

Major Road Transport prize was awarded for the fifth consecutive year and behind the initiative are Sweden’s Road Transport Companies with NTF, Qlll and Greater Than. Major Road Transport prize is awarded to a com-pany that has committed to the safety of the environment, profitability, human resources, and innovation. The price of SEK 100 000 is awarded to the Transport company who most successfully pursued these issues in 2012 and the price money will go to the further development of the winning company.

Sweden’s Best Driver CompetitionIn connection with the Major Transport Prize Day on May 15, prizes were also awarded to the dri-vers in the country who drive the most fuel-effi-cient. Five winners were chosen by the Swedish Road Transport Magazine contest Chauffeur-SM. Hans Sandström, WIBAX Logistics AB got the 3rd place and this gives him a weekend in Stockholm with various activities.
