E-1 Thank you Brother Carlson. Let us bow our heads nowfor prayer. Our heavenly Father, we thank Thee tonight for thisassembling together again. Night after night, in these revivals, weassembled.Andwe’vedidthis,Lord,yearinandout,andsometimewedon’tknowwhenorwhere,butweknowwe’llhavetoassembleforthelasttime,andwe’llbecalledtoanswer. I pray, Father, that if there be some here tonight who doesnotknowYouastheirSaviour,thatthiswillbethenightthatthey’llmakepreparationsforwhenthatcallof summonstocomeonhighto stand at the judgment, may they be ready to go, all washed inCalvary.E-2 And, Father, we pray for those who are sick and afflictedthat’s in the building tonight and others outside. And here’s somehandkerchiefs laying here and cloths, that’s to go to the sick andafflicted.Wedothis,becauseitiswrittenintheScripturethattheytaken from the body of Saint Paul, handkerchiefs and aprons, andplaced them on the sick. Evil spirits went out of the people, anddiseasesleftthem.Now,weknowthatwe’renotSaintPaul,butweknowthatYou’restillJesusChrist,theOneWhohealedthesick.E-3 And we’re told one time in the Scripture, when the childrenof Israelwas following their commission,going straight in the lineof duty,thattheRedSeagot inthewayof the lineof dutyof thechildren of God, going to a promised land, and God looked downthrough thePillarof Fireand the seagot scared,andopenedupaway,andtheycrossedoverasondryland. Now,Lord,whenthesehandkerchiefs,whicharegoinginthelineof duty,goingfromherewherethechildrenof Godarepraying,when they’re laid upon the sick, may God not only look throughthe Pillar of Fire, but through the Blood of His own Son, Whowasstriped,andwoundedforourtransgression,withHisstripeswewerehealed.MayHe look through thatpromiseand that sufferingyonder at Calvary, and every sickness and disease move back, thatthesepeoplemightmove into thepromiseof God.“Iwouldaboveall things,” said theapostle,“thatyouprosper inhealth.”Grant it,Father.E-4 Mybrethren,aredownthere,standingbytheorgan,thatsomelovelyfamilyletushavetoplaythemusicof God.They’rewantingto present this to You, Lord, as a_a public service. What a reproach it isupon the nation today, to find out that people, sometime who callthemselvesChristians,gotoouijaboards,andspiritualistsmeetings,and all kinds of tommyrot like that, and fortunes, and tellingfortunesandthingslike,whichisof thedevil. Is itbecause there’snoGod inheaven? Is itbecause thatHedoesn’thaveprophets inHischurch?Isn’t itbecausewedon’thavegifts and revelations and interpretations in the church to consultGod? Why would we have to go to such a low, degraded thing asthat?We^Godisgoingtoaskus,why?Why?E-15 Now,itwasn’tbecausetherewasn’taGodinIsrael.Itwasn’tbecause He didn’t have a prophet. But it was the king’s own evil,stubbornwaysiswhatdidit. Anditisn’ttoday,becausetheAmericanpeopleflocktoseancemeetings,and_anddevil-possessedthingslikethattoconsultforthefuture.Itisn’tbecausethatwehaven’tgotachurchthat’sgotGodinit; it’s theirownstubbornways.Theydon’twant toassociatewiththemkindof apeople. That’sthesamethingthatthiskingdidnotwanttoassociatewithElijah,becauseElijahalwayscalledouthissins.Sometimesit’sroughtoserveGod. There’sonlyone thing todo, that’s come to thehewing line.Toe the line with God. Leave your own thoughts go, ‘cause God’sgoingtoaskforareasonforthesethingssomeday.Andwhenweasktogiveareason,thenwhatwe’regoingtoanswer.E-16 Now, and then it was his own stubborn way, that he didn’twant to_to have any fellowship with this godly prophet. uponhim.Andwasundertheblessingbyhisbirthright,asbeinganIsraelite,butyet,refusedtoacceptGod’swayandwentsomeotherway. God’sgoingtoaskusatthedayof judgment,“Whydidn’tyoureceivetheHolyGhost?Whywasn’tyoubornedof theSpirit?Whywasn’tyouthiswayandthatway?Wasitbecausewedidn’thaveanychurchtoteachit?Wasitbecausetherewasn’tapreacherinthelandthatpreachedthebaptismof theHolyGhost?Whydidyoudothesethings?” When God’s made a provision, and them people refused towalkinit,thenHe’sgoingtoask,“Why?”E-17 It’s like a man dying on the doctor’s doorstep, because hewon’t take his medicine. The doctor has the prescription. He hastheremedyforthediseasetheman’sgot.Buthesetsonthedoctor’sdoorstep and refuses to take his medicine, then he dies on hisdoorstep. It isn’tbecause thedoctordidn’thave theprescription. Itisn’tbecausetherewasnomedicineforhissickness,butit’sbecausetheman’sownstubbornnesstorefusetotakethedoctor’smedicine,andhedie.Soyoucannotblamethemedicineorthedoctor,becausebothwastherereadyforservice,butitwasthemanwhorefused. AndGod’sgottheHolyGhosttonightforeverybelieverthatwants to receive It. We’ve got anointed preachers in the land thatpreachesitdailyandnightly.Butit’sthepeople’sownstubbornway,thattheylovedarknessbetterthanlight,thatthey’dratherliveintheworldthantowalkintheGospelLight.Oh,people,youdon’tknowwhatapleasureitistowalkintheLight,theLightof theLordJesus,have fellowshipwithHim. It’sglorydivine tohave fellowshipwiththeHolySpirit.E-18 Now,youcannothavefellowshipwiththeworldandwiththeHolySpiritatthesametime.You’vegottoabstainfromthethingsof theworld,liveclean,honorable,upright,andholy,thentheHolySpiritwilldwellwithyou,andwillworkwithyou,andwillperformmiracles through you, and will heal you, give you joy, peace, andlove,andlong-suffering,goodness,gentleness,matienc_patience,andfaith.If youwillwalkinGod’sway,there’splentyof HolySpirit. I’veoftenwonderedwhythatpeoplewanttotakeasubstituteforsalvation,whentheskiesarefullof thereal.Whywouldyoueatoutof agarbagecanwhenanicecleantable’ssetandreadyforyou?Itshowsthere’smentallysomethingwrong.Ithinkthat’swhat’sthematterwiththenationtoday.Ithinkwhena_apersonwillrefuseto

receiveChrist,theHolySpirit, intheirheartstowalk, letHimleadthemlikeHedidinthebookof Acts,there’ssomethingwrongwiththatpersonmentally.Ibelieveit.E-19 Now, they say, “Too much religion will make you go crazy.”Too much of the wrong thing will make you go crazy. But thereligion of Jesus Christ, if you are crazy, it puts you in your rightmind.See?Youarenotrightuntilyouarebornedagain.You’renotmentallyrightuntilyouhavebeenbornedagain.Amanisnotinhisright conditionuntilhe’sbornedagain.He’sabeastatheart,untilhehasbeenbornedof theSpiritof God,andthespiritof natureistakenoutof him,andtheSpiritof GodtakesIt’splacetorule.Thatleadshimandguideshimintoalltruthandlight.That’sright.Andif a man does not do that, knowing without that he’s hell-bound,there’s something wrong with his mind. Why, doesn’t the peoplereceiveit?Why? We’llputthe_arodeointown,there’dbeinthiscityhereof Phoenix (I suppose), half a million people or maybe more (I don’tknowthepopulation,),buta_one-thirdormoreof thecrowdwouldcome,andpayfivedollarsatickettogetin.Whichisallright,if youwanttogo.Thenwecouldputsometelevisionstarherewitharock-and-rollparty,andIsaynearlyfiftypercentof Phoenixwouldgo.E-20 And then, we put a gospel meeting here, where Jesus ChristcomesinPresencewithusall,toblessus,andtoshow,andprovetousbyHisWordthatHe’stheresurrectedSonof God,andwe’lljustgetahandfuloutof thecity.Butwhatisit?“NomancancometoMeexceptMyFatherdrawshim first.” I feel it’s thecreamof thecrop,theelected.“MysheephearMyvoice,andastrangertheydon’tfollow.”Dependsonwhat’son the insideof youdrawing,moving.It’stheelectalwaysthatGodspeakstoandsendsHismessageto. Now, they’re going to be asked someday, “Why? Why,didn’t you?” Was it because there was no meeting in Phoenix?Was it because the Holy Spirit wasn’t preached in Phoenix in thisgeneration, when it comes up to the judgment? Why, we’re goingtohavetostandthere.Everyoneof uswillstandthere,andgiveanaccount,andPhoenixisgoingtobeleftbare,becausethere’smany,many churches in here preaching the Gospel, the baptism of theHolySpirit,prayingforthesick.E-21 “Well,” you say, “we’ve had a lot of^” I don’t care whatyou’vehad.Surely,yougotenoughdiscernmenttoknowwhat’srightandwrongbytheWord.See?WatchtheWord. nomedicine inthere, that’sdifferent.But if there’smedicinethere,andadoctorwhoknowshowtogiveit,thenif theman’sdieswithhis disease, it’s not the doctor’s fault, neither the medicine’s fault.It’stheman’sownfaultbecausehedied.Hedon’thaveto.E-22 Now, in medicine sometime^There was a time when therewas no toxin for typhoid fever. There was no^Just recently theygot the Salk vaccine for the_for the children, for the a_the polio.Therewasatimetheydidn’thave it.Theygot itnow.Therewasatimetherewasnoa_inoculationfora_atyphoidfever,andtetanus,andtyphusshots,theydidn’thaveit.Butwegotitnow. Andnow,therewasatimewhenthetoxinof Godwasn’ttoogood.Itwasallright,butitwasn’tperfect.Butit’schangednow;it’sperfectnow. Now, why_how do they find medicines? How do they findabouta remedy,howtogivemedicine?Thefirst thing, they take itinto the laboratoriesandbegin tomixdifferentchemicals together,and they come to an idea, that this thing tested against a certaingerm, that it kills the germ, and leaves the good germ of life live.Sometimes,itkillsoff theantibioticsandsoforth,totakeoff someof thegoodgerms,thegoodandbad.Butusually, it’s testedtokillthe bad germ for your body. And then, there_next thing they do,theygetaguineapig,andtheyinjectthisserumintotheguineapig,that’s_theygivehimthedisease,andseehowitactsinthebodyof aguineapig. If theguineapig survives it, then theygive it toyou.Andnow,allpeople_itwon’tworkonallpeople,becausesometimestheycangiveyoua_likeadoseof penicillin,it’ll_it’llhelpone,andkillthenextonehegivesitto.You_youhavetotakeachanceonit,whenyou’retakingmedicine,becauseit’snotperfect.E-23 But I want to say tonight that the Balm of God, the HolySpirit,itisn’tahitandguess,orahitandmiss,Itisperfect.It’sgoodforall.ItisaBalmof God,Balmof Gilead.It’sthereforeverysicksin,sicksoul. Now,theysaytodaythatnumberonekillerinAmericaishearttrouble. I differentwith them;numberonekiller inAmerica todayis sin, not heart trouble, but soul trouble. In_inside of the heart,the soul that’s in theheart, that’s thenumberoneenemy.Wehavesomanypeople. Ihear themsay,“BrotherBranham,Iwant to liveright.” I had a young girls, and the young boys to tell me, and oldpeople, “I want to live right, but I just can’t keep from drinking.I just can’t keep from lusting. I just can’t keep away from theseplaces.” There’s just one thing, you haven’t tried the Balm. When

youtakethisBalmof Gilead,God’sbalm,itinoculatesyoufromallsinandthingsof theworld.Itputssuchaloveof Godinyourheart,untilthethingsof theworldbecomedeadtoyou.Certainly.It’sthegreatBalmof Gilead.It’stheBalmof God’shealingBalm.E-24 Yousay,“I_Iwish Icould.”Well,youcan, there’splentyof it.We’vegot_theheavens is fullof it.Wegotpreachersacross thelandpreachingit.We’vegotpeopleacrossthelandbeinginoculatedby it, and sin problem leaves them, because they’ve receivedGod’s inoculation. That sinners, drunkards, gamblers, gangsters,bootleggers, prostitutes, all of them, come to Calvary and are_areinoculated with the Balm of God’s glory, and His power, and sinquestionissettledforever.“HethathearethMyWords,andbelievethonHimthatsentMe,hasEverlastingLife,andshallnevercometothejudgment;but’spassedfromdeathuntoLife,”becausehe’sbeeninoculated with the Spirit of God that kill the things of the worldandmadehimanewcreature inChristJesus.Anewcreation,he’sinoculated. All the old things pass away; new life comes in, new desirecomes in. And if you haven’t got that, “Except a man be bornedagain, he will in no wise see the Kingdom of God.” And then atthedayof thejudgment,theworld’sgoingtobeaskedforareason,“Whydidn’tyoureceiveit?”E-25 Justasthepeoplearedyingonthedoctor’sdoorstep,menandwoman today are dying in the church pews. Sinners come to theplace,likeborderlinebelievers.Menandwomendyinginthechurchpew, and going out in eternity to meet God without hope. It isn’tbecause the Gospel isn’t preached; it isn’t because that there isn’tenoughBalm for them; it’s because they refused to take theBalm.Theyrefusedtotakethedoctor’smedicine,thenewbirth. AsI said, theothernight,“Thenewbirth isamess.” Idon’tcarewhereyougoatit;it’samess,anybirthis.It’samess,andthenewbirthisamess.Itmakesyoudothingsthatyoudidn’tthinkyouwoulddo.E-26 I rememberonetimeIwaspreachingatmytabernacle,yearsago,andtherewas^whenthe^IwasaMissionaryBaptist,andtheFirstBaptistChurchdowntown,theSundayschoolteacherwasup there and standing on the outside. And I always did believe inholiness. Ibelieve thataman, if he’sbornedof theSpiritof God,andledbytheHolySpirit,hewillliveright.Hehasto,becausethelife of God’s in him.
