A long long time ago I can still remember

How my typewriter made me smileAnd I know I know I should take a

chanceThat I could make that cursor

danceAnd maybe I would learn to surf for

a while

But computers make me shiverWith every click they’d deliver

I could take it step by stepAll I would need is time to prep

I can remember the day I cried

When the Internet I triedSomething broke down deep

insideThe day my computer died

"Why? Why?" Is my Internet cry.

Do I have to learn the net...and give it a try

And watch Internet whizzes as they surf by

Did you say the net I’ll love

And you think I can rise above

If D.O.E. tells me soDo you believe it will change

my role?The Internet will take controlAnd enhance our lessons on

the whole

Well I know that you’re in love with it

I am a lonely newbie on the way

With a mouse in hand and not much to say

Staring at this computer display

And getting ready to ride the wave

Now for many years I been on my own

And never ventured to the Internet zone

But that is how it used to be Computers are part of the classroom

sceneAnd I must learn to use this new

machineAnd look for answers on the screen

Oh and when the Internet had gone down

A technician was nowhere to be found

the Net class was adjourned

the teachers would not return
