Three Reasons to Use Technology
Why Technology?
Differentiated Learning
Technology helps differentiate instruction and assists students that need help on a specific subject.
This is best seen in math simulation and practice websites that help students focus on particular concepts that they are struggling with.
This is especially helpful so that students who possess understanding of a concept can move on to a new concept. (Roblyer, 34)

Motivation and Attitude According to the article Meta-analytic
studies of findings on computer-based instruction, the research performed proves that students in technology based classes:
• Have a more positive attitude in courses that use technology.
• Students who are often not motivated in school are more likely to be engaged in technology rich classes (Kulik).
• Students learn more and at a faster rate with technology integration (Kulik).
-“Computer use increases student motivation to learn. In a review of studies pertaining to rudimentary technology applications found that computer-based instruction can individualize instruction and give instant feedback to students and even explain the correct answer” (Coley).

Improves Test Scores Technology use in the classroom helps
improve overall test scores. One reason for this is because technology use helps move students toward understanding and improved comprehension.
One study performed by Kafai showed that games and programs in which students found meaning that connect to their own lives helped them actually learn and understand the subject (Kafai, 1996) therefore improving their test scores.
According to Dede’s(1998) studies he also found that students who were in technology rich classrooms scored consistently better on standardized test scores.
Technology use in the classroom also helps improve test scores because technology helps student visualize concepts and therefore better
recall what they learned on a test (Dede).

Conclusion
Technology use in the classrooms:
• Helps differentiate learning
• Improves motivation and student attitudes
• Increases test scores and student success
