The Good News:
• Six Sigma and Lean methodologies have become very powerful and “promising” tools in healthcare.
• From clerical to clinical, the methodology has proven effective in removing waste and eliminating errors and defects.

The Bad News:
• Success is short-lived if Lean or Six Sigma tools are simply “applied”. It is not whitewash.
• Failure results when one department’s performance improvement is NOT connected to the overall corporation’s objective. The program becomes collateral not cultural.
