Venus was feeling rather hungry.
In fact Venus was always hungry …
… but today she was very hungry indeed.
“Time for a little snack,” she thought.

She spied a stripy snail slithering
towards her. “Why! You look
delicious,” she said, licking her lips.
“I think I shall have to eat you.”

“Eat me?” snivelled the snail. “You don’t
want to eat me. My shell is much too
hard to eat!”

“Oh yes I do!” said Venus.
Gulp!
Ouch!Spit!

“Told you so,” said the relieved
snail as it slid away.
But Venus was still hungry,
Very, very, hungry.

She spied a wasp
buzzing busily
towards her. “Why!
You look delicious,”
she said, licking her
lips. “I think I shall
have to eat you!”

“Eat me?” blubbered
the wasp. You don’t
want to eat me, I’ve
got a very long
stinger, and I’m much
too painful to eat!”
