I am:

A recent College Graduate with Honours in Supply Chain and Logistics Management. The program in which I was enrolled covered the disciplines of: Purchasing, Logistics, Inventory Control, Operations Management, Customs, Warehousing, Transportation, Customer Service, Negotiations and Supply Chain Security, and Loss Prevention

A former professional AZ truck driver who has re-trained in anticipation of moving into the exciting new aspects of Supply Chain and Logistics Management when the lifestyle and demands of the profession exceeded my ability to deliver the highest level of quality customer service in accordance with the high-standards I hold myself to

A former hospitality professional in the restaurant field, where I worked and excelled at every position

My Weaknesses

Three of my known ‘weaknesses’ are:

I am honest (to a fault.) I can be too forthcoming, but I can also be too vague

I am my own worst critic. I am harder on me than anyone else and may ‘short sell’ myself at times

I lack the ‘hands on’ experience for the positions I am now seeking to fill

What I am Doing About My Weaknesses

I do not view the preceding as being ‘weaknesses’, but as challenges; areas indicating where improvements can be made, and growth can occur

1. I am assertive in how I speak with others. In being honest and forthright, I am aware that I need to phrase my words constructively and be mindful of other people. The challenge is finding that balance and knowing when you’ve said what needs to be said without omitting or adding anything

2. Changing careers, or the scope of a career can be frightening. I am learning more and more to trust my instincts as I progress through the required steps to change the scope of my career

3. In starting a new career path I am confident that I have the relevant education, transferable skills and past experience in related fields to live up to the challenges that await me in my new career. I don’t ask myself if I’m up for the challenge, but rather where will I be given the opportunity to prove it?
