Aims:

- Create business opportunities for individual entrepreneur

at the farm level.

- Utilize the potential to deliver renewable energy (own use

+ delivery)

- Create conditions for profitable production of biomass

and for new markets for residual products.

Objective: Fossil-free and profitable Swedish agricultural

and horticultural industries that provide positive climate

Aims:

- Strengthen profitability, growth and attractiveness for

agricultural and horticultural companies.

- Improve knowledge on markets, entrepreneurship, sales,

business models and consumers for efficient production

that suits the demand, with a national and global

perspective.

- Create the conditions for managing the business so that

it becomes less sensitive to changes and can manage

better, and benefit, from changing market conditions.

Aims:

- Knowledge, strategies and measures that increase the

competitiveness of agricultural and horticultural

entrepreneurs.

- Robust, energy-efficient and climate-adapted production

systems for climate-neutral agriculture and horticulture.

- Focus on water, animal husbandry, plant nutrition and

plant protection, as well as conservation of

landscapes and biodiversity.

15 olika organisationer har beviljats medel 2017 och 2018.

Krav för minst 2 sökande från 2 olika organisationer

Huvudsökande måste vara disputerad

Den förväntade nyttan för näringen och den

vetenskapliga kvaliteten avgör vem som får medel.

achieve it.

• Relevance and direct benefit

Relevance of the project to solve stakeholders’ needs. Capability of the proposed

project to fill unmet needs and tangible problems for a defined target. Evaluation

of the novelty value of the project for respective sectors.

• Communication and dissemination of results

Description of relevant stakeholders and end-users. Realistic plan stating how the

results obtained will be communicated further to the next stage in order to be of

benefit at the end of the project.

Originality and novelty value of the proposed project. The scientific importance of

the project objectives and the possibilities of significant results.

• Methods and performance, including budget

Feasibility and suitability of the scientific methods. Tangible and realistic work

schedule, coupled to a reasonable budget.

• Competence of the main applicant and project group

Ability of the main applicant and project group to carry out the project according

to the project plan, sufficient experience of project management, and to

communicate research results. Strengths and competitiveness of the project

group, both within the agricultural/horticultural sectors and academia.

Our open call – In a nutshell

Stage 1 - 2 April - 13 June, 15.00

➢ Concept overview, 3 pages in Swedish, focus on relevance and its benefits for

the sector. Short description of the project’s position in the knowledge chain, its

group members, the plan for result dissemination, as well as the budget

framework.

Steg 2 - 3 September - 10 October, 15.00

➢ Full-scale application, 10 pages in English, focus both on relevance and benefits

for the sector AND scientific quality. Description of the project and its expected

benefits both from a practical and scientific perspective. Plan for result

dissemination, justification for the project group members, reference group, and

budget.

Final decision in December.
