Keeping busyI serve on the Health Committee for theCounty and am vice-chair of the AuditCommittee. I have kept asking questionsabout the collapse of the £8m !H" carecontract for the elderly across the county and#hat that means for people.

 At the $istrict Council I hold the corporateand customer portfolio. After a meeting #ith

young people% listening to their concerns% I#as pleased to set tackling mental health%and better transport% as key challenges forthe $istrict Council.

$upporting the community After #inning funding for &hittlesford &arriors footbequipment from the $istrict Council's Community Chesam hoping #e can do the same to support the "couts atheir caving equipment bid. Here they are sho#ingsection of it to &hittlesford (arish council.

)hough the County roads budget has been cu#ork #ith high#ays on making improvements. I have hmeetings about the busy A** and have suppor&hittlesford parish council in meetings #ith the poland the county engineers to help local farmers accefields. I think that #e can improve safety along $u+fo,oad from the uildhall using ne#er technology th

%here has been strong demand for the ne#affordable housing almost complete along

!e#ton ,oad. !o# a bid to build along the A**% behind ,oyston ,oad% is being putfor#ard. )he scrapyard on "tation ,d mayfinally be on the move% leaving a big site for houses% and the County Council is againkeen to build at the end of rchard )errace%and e+plore other sites it o#ns. Althoughdelayed% there #ill be :< houses #hen the#eigh-bridge goes from /ill ,oad.

%he challenge for &hittlesford over the ne+tfe# years is to manage this gro#th% making

sure #e have the infrastructure 5roads%schools% and other things like playgrounds%buses and cycle#ays7 and to be sure thatsome of the houses are affordable. 9ecausethere is no doubt houses #ill sell here as fastas they can be built% and developers kno#that. I am pleased that the parish council is#orking on a !eighbourhood (lan% and I #illmake sure the $istrict and County Councils#ork #ith us% to gro# the village sustainably%and not ruin it.
