Interior You will need: • Approx 3 metres of 300mm x 50mm timber (ours came from a recycle yard) • 100mm jolt head nails • Hammer • Nail punch • Paintbrush • Paint stirrer • Pencil • PVA glue • Resene Colorwood Whitewash • Sandpaper • Saw • Set square • Tape measure To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene Spacecote Flat tinted to Resene Blue Gem. Other ideas: Refurbish an old wooden chest of drawers or photo frame with Resene Colorwood Whitewash to complement your finished table. Step six Turn the table the right way up and attach the table top to the legs and underneath support, fixing with nails and PVA glue. Punch in all the nail heads with the nail punch. Allow glue to dry. Step seven Stir the Resene Colorwood Whitewash thoroughly with a paint stirrer. Step eight Apply one coat of Resene Colorwood Whitewash to the table, brushing evenly in the direction of the grain. Allow to dry for two hours. Step five On a flat surface attach the underneath support to the legs, as shown, fixing with nails and PVA glue. Step two Use the back of the saw to mark perpendicular saw lines, as shown. Step three Cut the timber using the pencil lines as a guide. Step four Smooth any rough edges with sandpaper. Step one Measure four lengths of timber – two at 800mm (legs), one at 645mm (underneath support) and one at 750mm (table top).
