Australiana-Junior School Production Last Thursday evening the junior concert titled ‘Australiana’ was held over in the Garden for the Future. The weather was warm but

not unpleasant. The Grade Preps-2 all did multiple songs and some of them loved having the microphones so close to them and sung

with gusto! On behalf of the school I would like to thank all the parents, grandparents and friends who attended to watch the

performance, your support for such events is integral for it to be successful. I would like to acknowledge Mr Kaine Marsh for his

coordination of the concert and to Mrs White for making most of the props used on the evening.

Term Planners

Parents can access the Grade Term Planners on the school’s website under the curriculum tab along the top of the home page. Term

Planners outline the key focus areas in English, Maths and Integrated studies for the term.

After School Pick Up Concern We have a number of students who wait to be picked up on the

other side of the creek adjacent to the bike path. The issue with

this, is that the grass is very long and the children are jumping

from the bank down towards the creek and playing in the long

grass. A number of parents have expressed concerns about this

and we would obviously prefer the students do not play near the

creek and bridge.

Sewer Works Notification

Coliban Water are undertaking investigations of the sewer main

along Plumridge Street in front of the school. The works are

planned to commence on 21st October and be completed by 4th

November. This will possibly impact on traffic flow along

Plumridge Street during this period.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to support you.

Andrew Schaeche,

Principal

PFG News Christmas is also approaching fast and the Christmas hampers

will be drawn at the school Christmas Carols on December 17th.

With festive season gifts already on the shelves in stores, we

would very much appreciate if families please start to consider

donations for the Xmas hampers now. Any donations of non-

perishable food, toys or Xmas related gifts would be very much

appreciated and can be given to the school reception staff for safe

keeping.

Chocolate is a great stocking filler for Xmas and bags of

Cadbury chocolate bars are available for purchase from the

school reception at a great price! Get 6 variety bars of chocolate for $5 per bag (cash envelopes

available at reception), or EFTPOS available for purchases of 2

or more bags.

Graduation is an important milestone for students, and this year’s

Grade 6 Graduation will be held on December 19th. Further

information will be provided as this event draws closer;

particularly in relation to orders for Graduation Bears. Helpers

will be needed to ensure this event is a success for students,

so please advise Grade 6 teachers, PFG members, or office

staff if you are able to volunteer time for this event on 19th

December.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be held on Monday November 4th at

approximately 9:05am in the staffroom. All suggestions and

ideas for the PFG end of year celebration are welcome to be

presented at the next meeting.

All newcomers are welcome to attend any meeting! You may

bring along younger siblings to our meetings as well. Come and

have morning tea with us, a chat and a laugh, and find out what

we do around the school.

Thank you from PFG members
