Pharmacy Technician Helps prepare students to work as Certified Pharmacy Technicians. This year-long course prepares students for employment as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Through direct instruction, interactive tasks, and practice assignments, students learn the basics of pharmacy assisting, including pharmacy calculations and measurements, pharmacy law, pharmacology, medical terminology and abbreviations, and medicinal drugs. Students also learn sterile techniques, USP 795 and 797 standards, maintenance of inventory, patient record systems, data processing automation in the pharmacy, and employability skills. Successful completion of the course prepares a student for national certification for employment as a Pharmacy Technician.
