When we were told to pick a partner for the “Photo Partner Project” I felt like I was running around like a chicken without a head trying to find a partner, then the boy standing next to me asked if I wanted to be his partner for the project. I had never talked to, or even seen, this boy before, but I decided it was the perfect chance to get to know someone new. Later, I met my photo project partner, Dale Senart, in order to get to know him so we could complete the project. The vibe I got from Dale is that he enjoys science, as his major is engineering physics, however, he has a strong interest in music, as he plays the trumpet and enjoys music. After meeting to get to know each other, we decided to take a few days to brainstorm photo ideas for each other. When we met again to actually take the pictures, we each had ideas. Dale asked me to bring my drawing materials, due to my art interest being visual art, and me being an interior design major. Dale had me pretend to sketch a picture of a chair, while I was surrounding by art materials. For the photo of Dale, I had him read his engineering books, while his trumpet sat untouched next to him. This portrays that Dale is majoring in a science/math related field, however, he is interested in music. This inspiration for the photo came from Dale telling me that he is only majoring in a physics related field due to it being “more reliable” than a music based field. Overall, it was quite challenging, yet also interesting to take a photo of someone unknown to me based purely on their personality.
