I. QUICK START 1. Press the ON/OFF button.

2. Press PROGRAM to cycle through the different timer settings. The number shown is how long the unit will run and produce ozone. If there is a dot in lower right corner of the screen the unit will run for the displayed number of minutes each hour until turned off or reprogrammed.

3. There are 6 settings that run just once for the time shown of 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes.

4. There are 3 additional settings indicated by a blue dot that will continue to repeat for the time shown of 5, 10, or 30 minutes every hour until the unit is turned off.

5. At anytime you can pause the program that is running by pressing the pause button.

Standard timed usage: The Oz will count down in minutes until it gets to the last minute and will then count down in seconds. Standard timed usage settings are best for preserving and rinsing foods, purifying drinking water, or removing the chlorine from tap water for watering houseplants. In addition, 10, 20, or 30 minutes can be effective in destroying odors in confined spaces.

Recurring timed usage: These programs run 5, 10, or 30 minutes out of every hour until you turn off the unit or reprogram it. Recurring settings are best suited for destroying odors in large rooms, killing bacteria that causes odors in shoes (place items in plastic container and insert hose from Oz), or maintaining a fresh smell in kitchens and bathrooms.

II. USING OZ IN WATER

Many individuals drink ozonated water immediately after ozonation when the ozone is still active. While our experience does not show any dangerous effects, our research does not suggest conclusively that there are health benefits to drinking it.

[ Tip ]

Ozonated water has many uses —rinsing foods, cleaning nonporous surfaces, gargling to remove gingivitis, sterilizing and removing mildew on toothbrushes, removing bad taste from a glass of drinking water, washing your hands, cleaning your children’s toys or sanitizing the baby’s pacifiers!

To ozonate water: Connect the diffuser stone to the unit using the included rubber hose. Then place the diffuser stone into the water to be treated. The ozonation process works best when the diffuser stone is placed as low as possible in the water. The diffuser stone creates smaller bubbles that help the water better absorb the ozone that is being created.

To purify drinking water: Using the diffuser stone you will need 5 minutes per 12 oz. of water. Let water stand for 20 minutes after ozonation to allow the ozone to convert back to oxygen and then the water is ready to drink!

There are variables that affect how long you will want to ozonate water: the water temperature, the hardness of the water and the volume of water.

Typical household tap water reaches its highest ozone content after 5 minutes per 12 oz. of water. For example, to purify a quart (32 oz.) of water you will need to ozonate it for approximately 15 minutes. Water may be ozonated longer if needed, such as when it has a heavy taste of chlorine or if the water is warm (ozone dissolves better in cold water).

• The faucet aerator connects your unit directly to your faucet and instantly ozonates the water coming out. This is the quickest and most efficient way to create a large volume of ozonated water without waiting.

• Just simply connect the hose from the unit to the aerator, turn the unit on, and you can instantly fill up a sink or any container with ozonated water.

III. HOME & OFFICE USES

• Punch a hole in a shoe-box, insert the tube, and deodorize smelly shoes, workout clothes, toys, gloves, scarves, and other items of clothing that pick up bad smells.

• Insert the hose in a garment bag to remove the smell of cigarette smoke and other strong odors from suits, jackets, dresses, and other dry-clean-only garments.

• Run Oz in your garage to remove the smell of gasoline.

• Place the Oz hose directly on mold and mildew spots on upholstery and carpet.

• Rinse pacifiers in ozonated water, or ozonate the water before doing dishes.

To clean counters, sinks, floors, etc: Submerge a clean sponge in approximately 24 oz. of water (in a non-metallic container). Ozonate for 10 minutes. Remove the sponge and set it aside on a clean surface. Empty the water and refill the container with the water you’ll use for washing. Ozonate 5 minutes for each 12 oz. Immediately wipe down the object to be cleaned using plenty of water with the sponge. Allow ozonated water to sit for 5 minutes and then dry as desired.

To remove chlorine from water for houseplants: 5 minutes per 12 oz. Pour ozonated water on houseplants immediately for best results, or store in a container. The chlorine will not return.

To clean miscellaneous objects: Submerge waterproof objects in a non-metallic container of water and ozonate for desired length of time.

Great for keeping Children’s items & areas around the home clean.

Closets containing Coats, Backpacks, and Shoes: Set machine in closet and set to run for 30 minutes every hour. By running overnight it will help to remove odors and sanitize items.

Plastic Toys & Pacifiers: Fill a glass with water, drop in the toys or pacifiers, and ozonate 10 to 15 minutes or longer.

Soft Toys: Place in a box or garment bag and insert hose into chosen container and run for 30 minutes to remove odors and sanitize.

Blankets: Let sit in water that is being ozonated for 30 minutes.

[ Tip ]

Ozonating the water that flowers are kept in will help them stay fresher longer. Ozonate any water that is added to the vase. To keep them fresh even longer, change the water every couple of days, making sure to place the flowers back into freshly ozonated water each time. Also ozonating the water for any houseplants will help the plant better adsorb the water and nutrients from the soil.

Follow these steps to “shock” a room:

By “shocking a room” we mean filling the room with enough ozone gas to cover the entire room and its contents—killing all germs on contact in the air and on the surface. Due to the variation in room sizes, we cannot make a specific recommendation for time settings, however the rule of thumb would be to remove the diffuser stone from the tube and set the OZ unit to the recurring 30 minute program. The longer you run the generator in this setting the more effective shock treatment you will give the room.

Seal off the room you wish to shock as thoroughly as possible. Close all vents, windows and doors. Remove houseplants and exit the room immediately after setting the generator. Upon returning, open doors and vents and then exit the room for 15-45 minutes, or until there is no strong smell of ozone. A slight smell of ozone just means that Oz has done its work!

[ Tips ]

The EPA does not recommend breathing ozone gas in the air. Because ozone is effective, if you get too much it can make you cough, or cause a burning sensation in your eyes or sinuses. Breathing ozone is not recommended for the very young, elderly or asthma sufferers. Like some of our most common household tools, such as gasoline, bleach, electricity or even bug bombs, care should be taken! The EPA recommends moving to an area with no ozone if you do experience discomfort from overexposure to ozone gas.

Place a fan in the room to make sure that the ozone gas is distributed throughout the area. This will maximize the bacteria, virus and odor kill!

WARNING: Only shock a

room when it’s unoccupied! No people or pets!

• Make certain all people and pets have been removed.

• If the space to be treated has a separate heating and cooling system, turn the system’s fan to “on” to circulate the air while the space is being treated.

• Make sure inside doors—such as bathrooms and closets—are open.

• Close all outside doors and windows of the area to be treated.

• Set timer to the desired treatment time and exit the space during treatment.

• Upon your return to the space, make sure to turn the Oz generator “off”.

• Allow 15-45 minutes after the treatment has completed before occupying the space or open the outside windows and doors upon re-entry.

Car & Truck: Park vehicle outside, place unit in vehicle overnight running on the recurring 30 minute program to shock and remove odors and sanitize just like you would a room. To help remove odors from air conditioning vents you can turn the car on and let it run for the first thirty minutes with the fan on to circulate the ozone through the vent system.

Boat & RV: Use to shock the inside of RVs and boat hulls to remove musty odors and kill mold and bacteria. Shock instructions can be found on pages 12 and 13.

Hotel: Check in, set unit to run for 30 minutes, leave and return in an hour to a cleaner fresher room. This will help remove unpleasant odors from hotel rooms such as smoke and kill germs or bacteria left behind from guests that stayed before you.

V. ON THE GO USES

Pet Care: Bathe your pets in ozonated water. It helps remove odor, prevent the growth of skin bacteria, and reduces flea breeding.

Pet Areas: Shock the area or room the pets stay in once a week to control odors. Be sure to close off the area and remove pets before shocking. See instructions for how to do this on pages 12 and 13.

Soiled Carpet: Soak soiled areas in carpet with ozonated water to help remove odors.

Pet Beds: Place in a box or garment bag and insert hose into chosen container and run for 30 minutes to remove odors and sanitize.

Pet Crates: Wash crates with ozonated water to remove odors and sanitize.

IV. PET USES

[ Tip ]

Why does rinsing fruits and vegetables extend their life? Most, if not all, fruits and vegetables that you bring into your kitchen have a strain of bacteria on them called pseudomonas. This bacteria hastens the growth of mold or rust that ruins your fruits and produce. Oz kills this strain of bacteria on contact. Pretty simple!

To rinse and preserve the life of fruits, vegetables and meats simply place your food in a non-metallic bowl or container (glass bowls work great!) and fill with cool tap water till the food is covered. Place the tube and diffuser stone in the water and program your settings.

Fruits and Vegetables: 3-5 minutes. Gently move the fruits and vegetables to equalize the exposure to the highest concentrations of ozone in the water. Once you are done, drain the fruits and vegetables and package appropriately and store in the refrigerator. NOTE: Strawberries are quite delicate so experiment with the shortest time you can use and still effectively extend the life of the strawberries.

Meats and Poultry: Rinse for 5-10 minutes.

Purifying Drinking Water: 5 minutes per 12 oz. After ozonating let stand for 20 minutes and the ozone will return to oxygen and the water is ready to drink.

VI. FOOD USES

• Extend the life of new groceries with a sterilization bath: great for fruits, vegetables, meats, and fish.

• Clean kitchen counters with ozonated water to sterilize them after being exposed to uncooked chicken, fish, and other meats.

• Wash cutting boards with ozonated water.• Use ozone to remove cooking odors—for example, fish, broccoli, and onions.

[ Tip ]

When using a water flosser, such as a Waterpik, place the hose and diffuser stone in the water reservoir of the device and ozonate the water while water flossing for an easy solution to bacteria, gingivitis, and bad breath.

Ozonated Water for Oral Hygiene: Use ozonated water to prevent oral diseases such as gingivitis, and to freshen your breath. Ozonate for 5 minutes per 12 oz. of water. Immediately brush your teeth, rinse your mouth, or gargle with the ozonated water.

Cleaning Toothbrushes: Fill a glass with water, drop in the toothbrushes, and ozonate 10 to 15 minutes or longer. This would also work great for cleaning children’s retainers.

Hand Washing: Ozonate your tap water before you wash your hands. Or if using the faucet aerator attachment, simply turn the unit on and wash your hands under the running water.

Beauty: Add ozonated water to your washing, shampooing, and bathing routines to activate epidermal cells and remove skin bacteria.

Daily Disinfection: Quickly sanitize toys, pacifiers, clothing, dishes, tableware, and other household items that tend to get dirty.

Wound Care: Wash wounds or cuts to help prevent infection and speed up healing.

VII. HEALTH & HYGIENE USES

Oz works from the inside out.

According to the EPA, pollutants in the typical home or office are at least 10 times higher than in outdoor air. Dust, pollen, molds, mildew, bacteria and viruses can fill the air in our living spaces. Fumes from paints, cleansers, carpets, pressed board, fabrics and other chemicals are also breathed in daily by you and your family. Oz uses the natural sanitizing characteristics of ozone to oxidize odors at their source. O3 usually dissipates in less than an hour and leaves the air smelling cleaner, fresher, and with no chemical residue.

How does ozone kill bacteria? Ozone kills germs by attacking and penetrating the cell walls of bacteria and viruses. Once enough ozone electrons have penetrated the cell the germs are destroyed. Ozone penetrates on contact, which is why it works so quickly—unlike chlorine which has to be absorbed by the cell. Read the fine print on your household cleaners. Many say to wash the counter, apply the product (usually bleach or alcohol), leave it on the surface 10 to 20 minutes, and then wash the counter off before letting food make contact with the counter. Whew, that’s a lot of work!

Oxygen to Ozone.

In nature, oxygen is regularly transformed into ozone through forces like lightning and when ultra-violet light from the sun strikes the Earth’s atmosphere. The oxygen molecule in the air we breathe is designated as O2. Ozone is essentially O2 with an extra oxygen molecule attached so it is designated as O3. Once ozone has done its work, the molecule changes back to O2 (regular oxygen) leaving no residue.

Oz produces ozone for a variety of purification purposes by sending an electrical current to a ceramic plate, splitting the O2 molecule and creating O3.

VIII. WHAT IS OZONE?

Scientists have long acknowledged ozone’s efficacy at the microbial level, and it has been in use for years in hospitals, manufacturing, and other highly sterilized environments. [ Tip ]

The colder the water, the higher the concentration of dissolved ozone in the water. So when using Oz at home, there is no need to use expensive hot water to clean!

XI. LABORATORY TESTSGenozo hired an independent, certified microbial laboratory to assess the efficacy of dissolved ozone from the Oz Air and Water Ozone Generator. The tests were conducted to ASTM E2315-16 (Standard Guide for Assessment of Antimicrobial Activity Using a Time-Kill Procedure) and modified to be applied to surfaces according to ASTM E1153-14.

MICROORGANISMS TESTED: VIRUS, BACTERIA, AND FUNGI.

The results proved that Oz-generated ozone kills Virus, Bacteria, and Fungi.

In addition, the laboratory was asked to conduct a series of water tests to assess the dissolved ozone concentration in water. Dissolved ozone was measured using the indigo trisulfonate bleaching method.

Results showed that Oz-generated ozone in various water samples consistently exceeded minimum ppm (parts per million) standards for sterilization after ozonating the water for just 5 minutes.
