On Target

At last Monday night’s School Board meeting we reviewed how the school was progressing towards this year’s targets in attendance and behaviour targets. For attendance we are presently at the target of 75% and for behaviour we are above the target with 96% of our students demonstrating outstanding behaviour. Congratulations to everyone for their support during Term 1, let’s keep up the great work.

Supporting the children

I’m so proud of how many parents and family members are making the time to turn up at our assemblies to support either a merit certificate winner or the presenting class. Last week’s assembly was an excellent example of this. Having so much community support is sending a very positive message to our children that school is important. We know how hard it is to organise personal time in order to attend and we also know that sometimes it is simply impossible to do so. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your efforts.

Best wishes

Our best wishes go with Mrs Giles and her soon to be growing family. The school welcomes Mrs Susan Robertson who will be teaching Echidna 1 and 2 for the remainder of the year.

Lake Adams Fun Walk

On the Saturday 9th June “Dad’s in the Grove” will be holding a fun walk event around the beautiful Lake Adams bush in the hidden spaces of Banksia Grove. In partnership with the Fathering Project and Banksia Grove Primary School, we invite dad’s (and/or any type of Father figure – Grandparent, uncles, single mums) to take this opportunity as a fun and engaging way to bond with their kids.

The Lake Adams bush walk is a 3km walk amongst beautiful bush scenery that is engaging to kids from beginning to end and suitable for ages 3 and up. Families/groups will be given a map to follow and must locate special markers along the walk to complete a story riddle and be awarded a certificate of completion at the end.

The event is free to attend. You will need to bring water and maybe some snacks, enclosed shoes/runners, appropriate clothing etc. The walk is not appropriate for prams, bicycles, scooters etc. We look forward to seeing you there.

Event starts at 10AM

Entry/Meetup point is off Neaves Rd just outside of Banksia Grove (see below map)

There are plenty of spaces for parking cars
