Please follow below ste#s to avoid this issue :

1) Delete core fles rom work directory

"or$ directory in .ni/ often contains old core les which were generated due to#revious #rogram terminations& These core les need to be deleted

2) Delete old log fles and spool fles

.nder global directory there will be many log les which can be deleted regularly&

3) Deletion o old ABAP/4 trace fles

Some trace les with the name AT9instance numbernnnn will be in the data directory&;ld les of this ty#e can be deleted& The ma/imum available s#ace for all les is denedby the #arameter aba#1atrasi*equota& Also transaction S3C can be used to delete theles&

4) Deletion o old archiing fles

"hen old data is archived, some les are written to the global directory& The namingconvention of those les is B//mmddn -//< a##lication, mm< month, dd

&) Deletion o 'ld sort and (tract fles

4y the A4AP commands S;BT and 37TBA%T, tem#orary les are created& The location ofthese les are set using #role #arameter )IBJS;BT or )IBJ37TBA%T&

The tem#orary les for sort are named SMMMMMMM93/tension -;n "indows 0T &dat

is used as e/tension and on .ni/ there is no e/tension(& Similarly for 3/tract, 3MMMMMMM93/tension will be the le naming convention&

These les will be automatically deleted after the e/ecution of these S;BT and 37TBA%Tcommands& owever, in some scenarios, an abru#t termination can ha##en and theseles wonNt get deleted automatically& Those old les can be deleted by an administrator&

The e/act le names for these are stored in the #role #arameters >0JS;BT or>0J37TBA%T

Deletion o trace fles

Trace les are created during a new system startu# and they can be deleted& They arecontained in the wor$ directory

+) Deletion o stat fle or moing to di,erent location

Please chec$ whether the stat le which consists the wor$ load statistics, has not beenreorgani*ed for some time and has therefore become too large& In emergency cases,this le can be either deleted manually or can be moved to diLerent location&

To delete the stat le manually, #lease #roceed as follows:6oto STC transaction , call the delete function on the relevant instance by choosing :"or$load ! Beorgani*e ! )elete seq&stat&le

To change the location of stat le, change the value of system #arameter Ostat1leN to a

new location&

1-)Deletion o .o logs at operating system leel

In some emergency cases, where you cannot start the B1 system at all, the measure isto delete the ob logs at o#erating system level and run BS4T%)3 re#ort in forcedmode&

0ote: ow to delete ob logs at o#erating system level will be covered in a se#aratearticle later

11)0hanging the trace leelIf the trace les -devJH( in the wor$ directory are very large-normal si*e C&+ to 'CKbyte(,

it is li$ely that the trace level is set to very high value& In SAP, rdis#1TBA%3 #arameter isused to set the trace level& 0ormal value for trace is +&

Please cross chec$ this SAP #arameter and reset to + if the value is maintained as ' orhigher& If this value is set to high, much more detailed trace will be collected and tracele si*es are li$ely to increase& Therefore recommending to decrease or set the tracelevel to +&
