What’s the Next Big Thing? A training for Broadcast Professionals MJ Drouin, VidTrans 2013 Los Angeles, 13/02/26

description

After NAB last year, I was wondering what would be the next big thing for the Media Industry. The Software revolution is now pretty much done - it is everywhere. So, what’s next? I started researching... I read a lot, reviewed what is hot and how they may affect our industry. I decided to base today’s talk on the 2012 Gartner Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies published in September 2012. I review the main technologies that are being introduced and I define how it may apply to Broadcasters, Broadcast equipment manufacturers and Broadcast Transmission specialists as well as for Local Access Providers. I give examples for each of those industry, how the new technologies may influence the future 10 years and what they should investigate for their enterprises.
