From Highfield Road to Wembley Waycelebrates one of the greatest FA Cup finalsof all time and looks at how a football teamcan unite a whole city. Using photography, film and memorabilia from fans andplayers, the exhibition guides the visitorthrough a brief history of the club, eachgame of the 1986-7 cup run, thememorable final and the return of theconquering heroes.

Visitors will experience what it was like to bein Coventry City's 1987 F.A. Cup winningsquad, by entering the exhibition through arepresentation of the players' tunnel createdby artist Duncan Whitely. The muffled soundsof the crowd, will grow progressively louderuntil visitors enter the exhibition to the fullroar of the Coventry City fans.

Everyone in Coventry remembers wherethey were and what they were doing on 16May 1987 when Coventry City won the FACup. A section of the exhibition focuses onthese memories and gives visitors thechance to share their own stories of thatday, either in the exhibition itself or via ourwebsite.

The exhibition is not just about looking intothe past. Photographic portraits of the FACup winning team have beencommissioned by the Herbert. Parthomage to the players and part socialcommentary on modern football, theportraits by acclaimed photographer PaulSmith will illustrate how much football haschanged in the last 25 years.
