“Bump Start” 3 Parenting Workshops These informal and practical workshops will help you be prepared for labour and take care of your new born baby. The sessions help you recognise the first signs of labour, give you tools and techniques to minimize the pain and what to expect after giving birth to your baby. All in a professional but friendly environment. Attendees will benefit from a free “Welcome baby basket” full of useful baby goodies.

Health and Wellbeing EPP Cymru Course Do you ever feel tired for no reason, stressed or anxious? Do you find it difficult to manage pain or fatigue? Would you like to do something about it? ECLP communities First has partnership with EPP Cymru to run their successful Health and Wellbeing course in the area. This six week course is about making you an expert on living your life to the full, helping you identify health issues and helping you manage them

Flu friends talk –– St Mellons over 50’s Coffee Morning This is a fun interactive session with a Public Health Wales specialist. The session will make people more aware about the myths and truths of the flu vaccine as well as give an opportunity to raise the subject with friends and family. It’s also a great opportunity for over 50’s to meet and have a chat!

StreetGames Doorstep Sports Club – This club, a new initiative being delivered by ECLP Communities First, Cardiff Community Housing Association and StreetGames is aimed at young people aged 14-25, and will provide “taster” sessions in both Street Dance and Football. Cardiff City Foundation coaches will be attending the club to provide expert tuition to attendees. It is also hoped that a number of individuals attending (aged 16+) will be recruited as volunteers to deliver future sessions.

Jigsaw Family Learning Workshops A chance for parents to gain ideas for fun no or low cost family games and activities that can help you support your child's learning. Sessions also give you a chance to develop your own reading, writing and communication skills, as well as developing your knowledge of the school curriculum and offering a chance to get to know school staff better.

Family Learning Fridays We are currently planning a number of activities and short courses for parents of children at Glyncoed Primary School. Suggestions so far include Family Cookery Sessions, IPad sessions, Nail Art, Cake Decorating, Paediatric First Aid and even a Child Psychology course, so if you are interested in any of these and think you could encourage other parents to attend please let us know so we can confirm details!
