The centre of Hartlepool is sandwichedbetween two contrasting coastaltreasures. To the north is the historicHeadland, a proud community, home tothe oldest architecture in Hartlepool.

The area is home to somegreat attractions such as theStory Trail, St Hilda’s Church(ref M-G4 ) and The Heugh Gun Battery Museum(ref M-H4 ). A walk aroundthe Headland is a real tonicany day of the year, as theNorth Sea rolls relentlesslyinto the promenade wallsand the several piers.

To the south of the towncentre, Seaton Carew is abusy little seaside resort. Thearchitecture is primarilyVictorian and there is a longand easy to accesspromenade. Beyond this youwill find over two miles ofgolden sands stretching tothe Marina to the north andall the way to the mouth ofthe River Tees to the south.

Fish and chips are never better than by the seaside. TheHeadland and SeatonCarew have a range ofplaces to choose from toenjoy inside or outside
