What is the Diploma Program?
•Provides students the opportunity to acquire breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding
•Challenges students through rigorous courses of study so that they are prepared for college
•Addresses the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students
Courses in six subjects groupsLanguage and Literature = English
Language Acquisition = World Language
Sciences = Sciences
Individuals and Societies = Social Studies/History
Mathematics
Group 6 = visual arts, theatre, or another course from above
Diploma Program CoreTheory of Knowledge
-Studying how knowledge is gathered, interpreted and processed
Creativity Activity Service
-Moving from awareness of global community to service and action to better it
Extended Essay
-Writing a research based essay/comparable to a independent study course in college
How does that work for GRC?
All classes are offered higher level (HL) and standard level (SL).
The difference can be in content and/or assessments.
You will take these classes your 11th and 12th grade year, as they are 2
year courses.
3 HL classes and 3 SL or 4 HL and 2 SL.

Must fill schedule with courses to earn the standard or advanced diploma
*Remember we are a small school we offer IB Programmes and AVID, we will not have a huge selection of “regular” classes*

How does being a Course Candidate benefit me?
Some colleges and universities will waive a course or courses if you score 3/4 or higher.
The IB curriculum is world renowned for RIGOR .
Rigor of high school transcript = MAJOR factor in college acceptance.

As of 2013-2014, students qualifying for the International Baccalaureate fee reduction paid $24.00 per subject test.
