What to look for when buying a Monitor Mount
You may use your monitor in a combination of ways:
Education
Consulting
Diagnostics
Entertainment
Thinking of possible scenarios will help determine which configuration best meets your
needs.
When you look at monitor mount configurations, always ask:
Q. How should you evaluate the size of a monitor arm?
A. Consider the ways you use your monitor. The arm should easily accommodate whatever
cables the systems require.
Q. Where can you locate the monitor mount?
A. Ideally you should be able to mount the monitor wherever it makes sense given your use
and application:
Chairside
Cabinet
Ceiling
Wall
A support side mount delivers the monitor from the side of the chair, bringing it
closer to the patient for education ad consultations.
The front monitor mount uses the delivery system mounting location, providing a
good solution for consultation rooms and use on your side chair.
The 12 o’clock monitor mount positioning allows you and your assistant to both
view the screen.
Wall mount, ceiling mount or side cabinet mounting, allow you to place the monitor
out of the way for patient entertainment, diagnosis, education and consultation
during a procedure.

Post mounted monitors enhance patient entertainment and consultations during the
procedures
A monitor that pivots 90 degrees, to a horizontal position, will enable patient
entertainment during the supine position.
Q. Does the monitor mount move with or independently from the
dental light?
A. Look for a system that allows you to move the monitor mount independently of the light.
This eliminates the need to readjust the monitor or the light whenever the other is
repositioned.
Q. Can you mount the monitor on the cabinetry?
A. Mounting a monitor on dental cabinetry provides you and your assistant with an easy
view of patient data and allows the treatment room to serve both right and left handed
operators.
Q. How are the monitor mount handles configured?
A. Make sure the handles:
Allow you to easily maneuver and tilt the monitor
Allow for one-handed adjustments
Are easy for you and your assistant to reach
