He is active in the nonprofit tech and Drupal communities, and has a background as a community organizer. Ivan was a co-founder of the Genocide Intervention Network, and sits on the board of the Peace and Justice Studies Association. He is online communications associate with the Fellowship of Reconciliation and part of the NTEN and NetSquared communities locally and nationally. He has led community organizing workshops at the U.S. Social Forum, the New Organizing Institute and the Gandhi-King Conference.
