1.3 Composition

This fact has been corroborated by experts from Alicante University and by the Department of Prevention and Treatment of Sports Injuries at the Universidad Católica in Murcia. Studies carried out at these universities on sports performance and Totum Sport have proved that the levels of sodium, bicarbonate and glucose are seen to change for the better when Totum Sport is taken before and during physical activity. The increased levels of sodium help prevent intracellular dehydration, in turn the glucose reserves are made readily available which favours a faster recovery. 3.1 Laboratoires Quinton

The name Laboratoires Quinton comes from the French biologist and physiologist René Quinton, who proved more than 100 years ago that our inner environment has the same mineral composition as that of seawater.

3.2 Track record and origins

To produce Totum Sport, Laboratoires Quinton pumps up seawater from areas of intense biological activity. That is, places like the Bay of Biscay, where the water is of optimum quality, purity and nutrient richness.

The seawater is taken to the laboratory in refrigerated trucks at a controlled temperature within 48 hours. On arrival, a series of quality control tests are carried out (these are repeated on the end product) to ensure the best quality of the water for daily consumption, and it undergoes a cold microfiltration process in a sterile environment to guarantee and preserve its nutritional properties.

Seawater is harvested at a depth of 30 m in the phytoplankton caught in vortex.

4.4 SponsorshipOur main objective is to look after athletes to the maximum. That is why Totum Sport sponsors various elite athletes who have to overcome their toughest challenges on a daily basis. These include the football team Elche Club de Fútbol and the French FDJ cycling team. Totum Sport is their official nutritional drink.

We also sponsor individual athletes who compete in various sporting events, such as triathlons, trail running, cycling or running. These individuals include:
